Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Second rate reporter says what?

“I was told there would be no fact checking.”

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

The party of Reagan has become the party of Putin.

This country desperately needs a functioning fourth estate.

Anne Laurie is a fucking hero in so many ways. ~ Betty Cracker

A snarling mass of vitriolic jackals

Giving up is unforgivable.

Since when do we limit our critiques to things we could do better ourselves?

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

So fucking stupid, and still doing a tremendous amount of damage.

I desperately hope that, yet again, i am wrong.

If you thought you’d already seen people saying the stupidest things possible on the internet, prepare yourselves.

I’m more christian than these people and i’m an atheist.

We know you aren’t a Democrat but since you seem confused let me help you.

Let me file that under fuck it.

Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gives a damn.

Reality always gets a vote in the end.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

Consistently wrong since 2002

Is it negotiation when the other party actually wants to shoot the hostage?

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

I might just take the rest of the day off and do even more nothing than usual.

If you voted for Trump, you don’t get to speak about ethics, morals, or rule of law.

Painting by NEIVANMADE. It has a white background an in the center are Soldiers in green doing air defense by firing at incoming Russian missiles in the upper right. The missiles are red and yellow. In the upper left, written in green, is the text: "SAVE THE BRAVEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD!" Below the Soldiers, also written in green, is "SUPPORT FOR KHARKIV"

Russia is once again hammering on Kharkiv with drone swarms. It appears that Putin is trying to destroy the city in order to break the citizens of Kharkiv’s morale.

16!!! explosions reported in Kharkiv and probably more to come! The city is under massive russian drone attack! Russia is a fcking terrorist state!!!!

“We’re like targets in a shooting range,” my mom told me tonight.

— Iryna Voichuk (@irynavoichuk.bsky.social) April 1, 2025 at 5:47 PM

That was an overwhelming number of russian drones—a massive attack, even by Kharkiv’s standards, where we’ve sadly grown accustomed to such assaults. It was…. intense. Bloody murderers.

— Kate from Kharkiv (@kateinkharkiv.bsky.social) April 1, 2025 at 6:07 PM

Russia struck Kharkiv with 13 kamikaze drones tonight. The only signal Putin is sending is that he knows Trump is weak, Europe is weak and he can attack innocent people for fun and go unpunished.

Here is President Zelenskyy’s address from earlier today. Video below, English transcript after the jump.

We Have Shared All the Information Regarding Russia’s Violations in the Energy Sector with the American side – Address by the President

1 April 2025 – 21:34

I wish you health!

A lot of military matters were addressed today. I held a Staff meeting. The key issue is the staffing of our brigades and ensuring they are fully equipped with everything necessary. I also had separate talks with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, the Commander-in-Chief, and the Chief of the General Staff – we are preparing detailed proposals regarding the contingents of our partners who could become part of the new security architecture. In fact, this is one of the security guarantees for Ukraine. The primary and most effective guarantee of our security for Ukraine is our state’s Defense Forces and Security Forces, along with appropriate motivation, provisions, and all the necessary defense capabilities. This is our starting point: the Ukrainian army must be strong enough, and on this foundation, the entire security architecture is built. A meeting will take place in just a few days – on Friday – with representatives of our partner states – these will be military representatives. The meeting will discuss a joint approach to the issue of contingents. We will work based on the prepared proposals from the Ukrainian side, and we need a joint approach for everyone in Europe, and therefore joint decisions. I also received a report from Ukraine’s Minister of Defense regarding contacts with our partners, particularly with the American side. We have shared all the necessary information regarding Russia’s violations in the energy sector: there were strikes, and today again there was a strike in Kherson, a Russian drone targeted an energy facility and equipment – entirely deliberately and purposefully – part of the city was left without electricity. We insist that every such violation must be documented and receive a response from our partners. It is precisely these small details that add up to Russia’s major delays in the diplomatic process. The unconditional cessation of strikes proposed by the United States is not being implemented solely because of Russia’s position.

I also held several international meetings today. I met with the Lithuanian Foreign Minister – I expressed my gratitude for the support provided to Ukraine. And it’s a very principled support from the first minutes of the full-scale war. Assistance with weapons, economic aid, and political support. Lithuania has provided new air defense systems – six of them. We are very grateful! We also highly value Lithuania’s help with our weapons production in Ukraine – investments in our defense industry and joint projects – these are incredibly important. We also appreciate Lithuania’s support in our relations with other partners, particularly within the European Union.

Today, I also had a meeting with the German Foreign Minister. Germany is one of our greatest friends in terms of support. Air defense, weapons, finances – we, together with Germany, have saved thousands and thousands of lives in Ukraine. There is a new support package today – EUR130 million. Overall, Germany is providing strong support this year. German assistance to Ukraine will total EUR 7 billion. Our previous agreements with Germany regarding weapons and air defense have recently been implemented. I also want to thank Germany for ensuring that their support for Ukraine remains predictable and systematic. The stability of support is one of the key factors in defending against Russian aggression. It is the interruptions in supplies, disagreements between partners, and all signs of instability that Putin is highly counting on. He believes that unity in the defense of life will not be preserved. And that is why it’s so important to do everything we can to maintain unity and keep constructive cooperation with all our partners. Ukraine is doing this.

And one more thing. Almost every day the decrees are issued to honor our warriors with state awards. Today, I signed one such decree. 449 warriors of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were granted orders and other awards. Sadly, 179 warriors were honored posthumously. We must always remember how much depends on our army – on all Ukrainians who are defending the life of Ukraine with their own lives. I thank every warrior of ours. I thank all those who are working for our state and who are helping us.

Glory to Ukraine!

He also held a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock after their meeting:

First Lady Zelenska announced the launch of a Ukrainian-language audio guide at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History in Chișinău.

Georgia:

Day 125 of daily protests in Georgia.

While we need to forge new political approaches and methods of resistance, we are again out today, because we simply won’t stop – we cannot. This is our endgame, the issue of our existence as a nation, and our life here or lifetime emigration at best. 1/2

2/ The parliamentary commission established by Georgian Dream, which is tasked with studying “the activities of the regime in power from 2003 to 2012, as well as the political officials of that period,” voted to refer Khazaradze’s absence to the Prosecutor’s Office.

— Publika.ge (@publikage.bsky.social) April 1, 2025 at 7:19 AM

3/ According to the Criminal Code, failure to comply with the commission’s request can result in a fine or up to one year in prison.

4/ Khazaradze, who was scheduled to testify on March 25, stated that he would not take part in “this circus”:

— Publika.ge (@publikage.bsky.social) April 1, 2025 at 7:19 AM

The regime has adopted multiple dictatorial laws in the last couple of days, including strict limits and censorship on media, and forbidding academic work for civil servants without the approval of supervisors, guaranteeing regime indoctrination.
I can’t follow it all, too many.

Temur Katamadze, who is in immigration detention, has begun a second hunger strike. He previously ended a 48-day hunger strike on March 5. Before his arrest, Katamadze actively participated in protests in Batumi and is called the ‘Batumi Flagbearer’.

Back to Ukraine.

Reports, though as yet unconfirmed, of launches of Shahed Doodlebug flying bombs from Chaudra in Ukraine’s Russian-occupied Crimea, so it looks like it was just logistics. Still, this might also be an indication of the effectiveness of Ukrainian attacks inside fascist Russia.

Two weeks of Ukraine holding back fire to honor the “ceasefire” while Russia escalated to worst attacks of the war, and it seems Ukraine is no longer playing.
