A quick reminder from the meetup organizers that this Saturday the 17th at 1pm will be the all Ohio Meet-up in Columbus.

Plank’s on High at the corner of S. High & Whittier Streets in German Village.

    Too much sharing here, but my sister on law announced this week that she has scheduled a restaurant dinner that night for the siblings and couples. I told spousal that if we don’t make the meetup or leave early he can just plan to move out, but he needn’t go to the meetup at all because I do know how to drive to Columbus by myself.

    He laughed and called his sister and told her we might be late because if he screws up the meetup for me I will cut off his balls. That is not what I said. I just said he is always free to move into sister’s guest room.

    @trollhattan: Our local diner gave us free pancakes one weekend if we could show a Covid vax card. So not all are Fauxy.

    ETA But yes, many of the diners are older than the typical jackal.

    @Kathleen: Now I do remember that. I was down the eldercare vortex then. A trip to Cleveland was out of the question. A trip to Cincinnati was like a trip to Mars for probability.

    So how are we suposed to identify ourselves to the Planks people? Green balloons. A particular name? Stake out half the restaurant?

    I know we can’t get a reservation, but how do we self-identify?

    @Manyakitty:  Would Burndtwood Tavern on Rt 18 Market Street work. Just off I-77. Not too far off I -71 for those coming from the south.

    Open for other suggestions. I don’t eat out a lot outside my neighborhood. Closer to Canton for Professor Bigfoot?

    We thought about a meetup a few years back, but we couldn’t even decide between NE Ohio and Columbus. And then I had family issues and dropped the ball.

    Columbus is more important because everyone in Ohio gets there sometime, and it is inconvenient for everyone who doesn’t live there. I wouldn’t expect Ohio Mom to get to NE Ohio. Columbus is a stretch but she has promised.

    I am so excited about tomorrow. But I would love a NE Oh meetup because so many couldn’t make it to Columbus, more scheduling than driving time.

    And others not NE Ohio would be welcome.

    I am sorry to say that I cannot attend today’s gathering. A couple of things popped up, and with the long drive, I can’t make it and be where I need to be. I look forward to the proof of life photos, and hope another one can be scheduled this summer. Have a good time, everyone!
