I just left a comment.
If you are concerned that RFK Jr.'s FDA chief Marty Makary is limiting the Novavax COVID booster to those over 65 or with underlying conditions, and may do the same for Pfizer/Moderna as well, consider leaving a comment as well.— Carl T. Bergstrom (@carlbergstrom.com) May 21, 2025 at 12:05 AM

Thank you Anne. Those who know do say that comments are important, in changing minds, and failing that, in support of court cases if comments are ignored. We have rights to be heard and listened to. This is one place to speak up.

thank you so much. I just left a comment.

Why is it every time I read that man’s name my brain turns it into Marty Malarkey?

I made a comment this morning.
I made sure to point out that I find it problematic that government wants to get between me and my doctor (free choice, I noted) over a vaccine already declared safe & effective by the FDA.
I went to to say that as of 2023 (last easily available data) 650,000,000 doses had been given in the US and billions worldwide, with remarkably low complications. Basically no one in medical care is asking for this restriction!

Commented. Short and felt too simple, but commented.

@Kirk:
Short and unambiguous is good. They will probably be tallied, so think of them more as votes than as essays.

Commented yesterday. As someone noted earlier, RFK Jr went swimming in Rock Creek Park over the weekend, which is prohibited because it’s basically a sewer. C’mon e coli!

Commented. Had a substantive medical point too, so not only a “vote.” Can’t hurt.

Left a comment. And didn’t swear, which was a real accomplishment.

Fuck RFK, Jr.

I did “the thing” and I still hate captcha.

Well I’ve added my $.02 to the comments. Never thought I’d be writing the American government because it was threatening to more or less end a vital vaccination program, but here we are.
RaflW
I don’t think Americans will face foreign travel restrictions over Covid shots unless a new virulent mutation occurs and the current ideological turdblossoms are still in charge. But if we have a large-scale measles outbreak, and the US doesn’t get our ducks in a row in response, I could see other countries requiring proof of vaccination for admission, even just for vacay since it’s sooo transmissible. Fun times ahead (as we’ve known to expect since last Nov., if not quite this deranged)

Are you all doing your commenting as “Anonymous” or are you including your email address?
H.E.Wolf
Commented. Took 5 minutes, of which 2 were proofreading and 1 was vacillation over whether I wanted to be anonymous.
oldster
@Eunicecycle:
I commented anonymously, after reading the very shouty warning at the bottom of the page telling me that all my personal info would be put in the public record.
I don’t know that it really matters, since I am nobody and nothing, but clicking “anonymous” was easier than typing anyhow.

Left comment. Anonymous.

@oldster: I saw that, but for me I felt like my name, city and state was OK. I didn’t have to provide a street address and the form accepted my submission with the phone space blank.
However people fill it out, it’s good to get comments in!

@Eunicecycle: I included everything including my ph#. B/c if we reach the point where we can’t be open in these processes, then it’s time for something more …. severe than mere protests.

@eclare: I’m going to guess e-coli doesn’t eat their own kind.

The Onion-
Supporters of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are cheering on the Health And Human Services secretary’s plans to “Make America Healthy Again.” Here is everything you need to know about the MAHA movement.
Q: What is MAHA?
A: It’s like MAGA but with food dye instead of immigrants.
Q: What is their official motto?
A: Rub Some Dirt On It.
Q: Who is behind MAHA?
A: It is a grassroots coalition of your worst cousins and coworkers.
Q: What is their main focus?
A: Making sure Americans live either much longer or way shorter lives.
Q: How does the movement propose curing disease?
A: Harnessing the natural power of leeches to purge ghosts from the blood.
Q: Why are they obsessed with cooking with beef tallow?
A: It’s easier than fighting for a functioning health care system.

I interpreted the shoutiness as warning not to include personal information in the comment itself or in attachments. But after reading your comment, now I’m unsure!

Commented. Thanks for posting the link. It’s shocking that whoever crafted this policy never once thought about the public health dimension. Who under 65 doesn’t have contact with the elderly or the immunocompromised? It says something that RFK Jr, Marty Makary and Vinod Prasad and other likeminded a-holes can only think about the vaccine through the prism of individual health and not public health. I guess if you’re rich enough you can convince yourself that every man is an island. Or you can be selfish and say, I’ve got my little refuge and don’t care about anyone else.
Matt McIrvin
@RaflW: During recent COVID waves, a relatively small fraction of the population were actually getting the boosters, and overall impacts were declining regardless. So unless that changes, the effect of this probably won’t be super visible in the top-line stats, but it sucks for those of us who were still getting the shots just to reduce our general vulnerability during the big winter waves.
Matt McIrvin
(Where it really sucks isn’t boosters for adults, it’s that they’re keeping previously unvaccinated young children from getting the shots at all. And some of them are going to get ME/CFS from infection.)
Eunicecycle
Thanks for the replies. I still haven’t decided what to do. Will probably decide at the last minute!

I ended up doing it anonymously since it was easier. Typical lazy American, I know!

What’s the most appropriate comment category?
JustRuss
Yeah. They have a field for your phone number, then a disclaimer to not leave personal information. WTF?
Eunicecycle
@Other MJS: I used “individual consumer.” I think that was suggested above.

Left a comment stealing some text from @RaflW: My name is Anonymous Anonymous now.

@Eunicecycle: I’m confused as to whether this refers to the drop-down list or the boxes below. But I’ll go with your suggestion; my message is clear enough. Thanks.

I submitted a comment at that link. The list they gave over what area the comment applied to, and did not list the FDA or Health Dept so I used Federal Government as a catch all.
