    If I watch that video YouTube’s goddamn AI algorithm generator will begin flooding my recommends with endless videos of RFK Jr, stand up comics, and flaming dumpster meme videos from now til the end of time.  Google badly needs to tweak that platform.

    We got back yesterday from our trip (broke my ankle and wrist in Brussels3 weeks ago) and saw the first surgeon today. I’m happy to say that he took off the cast and said, based on my x-rays, that I can wear a “boot” for the next 2-3 weeks, which I was hoping for based on the way it felt.  Honestly, this is wonderful news.

    Tomorrow I have the hand and wrist surgeon, and I’m not as hopeful about how it’s healing. It still hurts, and still feels like a dislocation. This doctor did surgery on my left wrist for an arthritic condition, and I think he might ask what I did to his nice handiwork.

    Thanks for the recommendation.  I’m looking into it.  The thing is I don’t mind YouTube keeping a list of some of the subjects I’m interested in.  It’s often useful.

    I just wish there was a way to delete categories.  Just because I watch a recipe video doesn’t mean I want to be inundated with every recipe video they have.  It was a one-off.  If I need another recipe I’ll search.

    ETA:  So is DuckDuckGo basically a VPN?

    Question. The anti-Tesla protests were a high point of the past few months and significantly impacted the earnings of a high powered and toxic Trump admin figure. There are plenty of other Trump administration figures with significant business interests. Plenty of billionaires. Can their business interests be targeted in the same way? Can we make working for these marauders be unpleasant and expensive?

His post-election rant blaming the loss on Democrats using “Latinx” and blue-haired baristas yelling at men on the subway for manspreading really pissed me off. I don’t need another cishet white dude telling me that we need to throw parts of the coalition under the bus, thanks.

    JJ is a really great young guy.  RFKJr. is a phony.

    And yeah.  Do not forget that Michelle Obama tried to improve the nation’s health, one fruit and vegetable at a time. Socialism!

    rfk jr is the Kennedy who could never be one of the KENNEDY CLAN with any family clout whatsoever. He just doesn’t have the Kennedy anything – other than the name. I have zero idea how his family would see him if the major members were still alive but I’d bet today it wouldn’t be positive. In any way.

    A Texas bill that could slap warning labels on popular snack foods like Doritos and M&Ms is one step away from becoming law – and is poised to be among “the most substantive victories yet for the Make America Healthy Again movement.”

    As Bloomberg reported Monday, Texas Senate Bill 25 would require that packaged foods sold in the Lone Star State display warning labels if they contain certain additives banned or restricted in other countries. The labels would warn consumers about ingredients “not recommended for human consumption” by other countries and would go into effect starting in 2027.

    “The bill lists more than 40 ingredients, including synthetic food dyes and bleached flour. Many, but not all, of the additives are banned or require warnings in other countries.”

    The bill’s sponsors in Texas said it has the full backing of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who personally called one of the bill’s sponsors,  Republican state Rep. Lacey Hull, to congratulate her after the bill passed the Legislature.

    “If approved, the impact on the packaged-food industry could be far reaching: When companies are forced to comply with state regulations, they have often opted to adopt those changes nationwide to streamline production. It would also mark one of the most substantive victories yet for the Make America Healthy Again movement, Kennedy’s signature effort.”

    If Abbot, of all people signs it, he should become a laughing stock.

    I’m all for healthier foods, but after the way republicans ripped into Michelle Obama’s efforts to introduce healthier school lunches… grrrr!

    @Jackie: I haven’t been paying too much attention to this, but I’m a little surprised.  Frito-Lay used to be based in Plano, and they apparently still are.  Of course, they’re just a cog in the PepsiCo conglomerate now.

    I kinda wonder if the “all natural” ingredients in Cheetos means they’ll avoid any ban.  Hmm…  But not enough to check – there are too few hours in the day as it is.

I was feeling pretty raw because my immediate thought was “America just will not vote for a Black woman,” and I really wasn’t in the mood for that shit. I unsubscribed from him on YouTube and haven’t been back since. Between Josh Johnson and the Dropout crew, I’m getting my comedy needs met.
