On the Road is a weekday feature spotlighting reader photo submissions.
From the exotic to the familiar, whether you’re traveling or in your own backyard, we would love to see the world through your eyes.
Pictures from a No Kings protest on the other side of Los Angeles, far from downtown but still in the city of Los Angeles proper (corner of Lincoln and Jefferson Blvds). The organizers estimated that about 1,500 to 2,000 showed up over the course of the afternoon. Includes a shot of my friend’s TACO t-shirt, which she had made specially. A lot of people liked it! Our other (African American) friend briefly considered joining us but she is still “resting and not protesting” and I respect that decision.
There were three Jesuit priests (I assume from Loyola Marymount U, but I’m not sure) at our protest. I laughed watching their faces at some of the chants, but they stayed a long time and joined the “Immigrants are welcome here” chant.

Partially obscured sign reads: “It’s Giving Small Dicktatorship Energy.”

The occupants of this car (on their way to a different No Kings protest) stopped to share their sign with us!

Back of my friend’s TACO t-shirt.

Made a lot of people chuckle and we appreciated the water.

Love the small dick energy lady! (Yes, I know, small dictatorship energy.) But still. Love her.
