Hey everybody!

The Virginia meetup is happening, and Piratedan is getting organized.

Date – Saturday, October 11th
Time – 12ish til whenevs

To recap:

piratedan had a gleam in his eye for a Balloon Juice meetup, hosted at his place, about a month from now.  And now it has turned into reality!

Ms. Pirate is on board with hosting this meetup at the Pirate residence.

Piratedan and Ms. Pirate, hereafter referred to as The Pirates, are happy to provide snack/deli tray type of arrangement and a big ass cooler full of beer/soda and likely some sweet tea.

Beyond that, folks are welcome to bring any particular foods or beverages that they wish.

They are thinking of a lunch/brunch timeframe, allowing people to congregate as long as they wish yet still have daylight in order to travel.

They can accommodate a limited number of inebriate Jackals if that occurs.

The location is rural, and private, since they live literally at the end of the road.

They can host inside or out, depending upon weather.

Dogs will be provided for petting and photos.  Cats may be seen, but they will do as they damn well please.

The Pirates are very much looking forward to meeting and greeting those that can make it!

IMPORTANT – If you are planning on attending, or hope to attend

Please RSVP by email to WaterGirl – watergirl at balloon-juice.com – but it’s great if you also add a comment in this thread so everybody can see who all is interested.

Please include this information in the email to WaterGirl:

  • let us know how many will be in your party
  • include your BJ nym
  • let us know if you might want to stay overnight (or will plan to stay overnight)
  • include any other details you would like

WaterGirl will forward your email message to piratedan, who will contact you directly with address specifics, and he can answer any questions that you may have.

    It’ll be just me, unless there’s anyone else in southern MD that I can pick up on the way. (Spanky?)  I’ll probably bring a pumpkin pie, because it’ll be the season and I like making pumpkin pies, and I’ll probably bring something more substantive as well.

    Looks like about a 2-hour drive to Hague from my end of Calvert County, so that ain’t too bad.

    I’m not asking for an exact address but a general vicinity – maybe a zip code or nearby town – something with a 15-20 minute drive of the place would help me figure out if it’s close enough to pique my interest.

    If the dramatic mid-air heist of super top-secret data regarding the location of the real* Epstein Files I’m deep into the planning stages of goes to schedule (fingers crossed), I should be able to parachute down to somewhere in the general area around lunchtime. Obviously I’d need to pop into a convenient roadside store (for medical attention, quick clothes swap and to pick up nibbles) before thumbing a lift, but as long as the forces of S.P.O.N.G.E.** don’t converge on my position I can stay a couple of hours before extraction.

    But if got some reason I don’t make it, have a great day anyway. We’ll meet eventually in Valhalla***.

    I’m still looking forward to coming (can’t believe it’s less than a week off!) and not expecting to need overnight accommodations. May bring a homemade pumpkin pie.
