Yesterday in the comments section of this Oliver Willis response to an Instapundit post about the angry left, Canadian Robert McClelland wrote:
Reynolds hates reality. And I’ve already told you how to deal with this prick. Stop dicking around and start digging up some dirt on him. He has students. I’m sure there is at least one who knows something he’d rather not have made public. Everyone has a secret, Oliver. Find Glen’s and then beat him black and blue with it.
I found this pretty amusing, and emailed Glenn the following:
You missed the humor in the suggestion that you be blackmailed.
Robert McClelland is a Canadian, or at the very least a resident of Canada, who most recently described the United states as a ‘third world hellhole.’
So, to summarize: An America hating Canadian is so incensed by a post in which you assert that some lefties seem to hate America that he travels to a left wing site to recommend the outright blackmail of an American to stifle political speech.
That ought to play well in the heartland. I officially declare irony to be dead.
Today, our friend from up north gets his panties ever further knotted:
Naturally it goes without saying that these two rubes are lying about what I said. I never said someone should dig up dirt to blackmail Instarube. I quite clearly said they should dig up dirt to crush him like a grape, just like these odious right whingers do to anyone who disagrees with them.
As for how this will play in the heartland of America. Who gives a fuck, John. You don’t hear me mewling like a baby about how your anti-Canadianism will play in the heartland of Canada, do you? No, and the reason for that is we Canadians simply don’t care what an ill informed American right whinger has to say about us or anything else.
Happy thoughts to you.
Other than a well known South park Song, I was unaware of rampant anti-Canadianism (I think we can all be happy the thin-skinned McClelland isn’t, say, French). In fact, I thought of them as pretty good neighbors and allies. But for members of the Michael Moore/George Soros angry left- I defy you to find a better illustration of their self-defeating attitudes and behavior.
Thanks for the clarification, though. I understand now that you wish to destroy people to stifle political speech, not merely blackmail them.
You can’t even parody these wingnuts anymore.
*** Update ***
LOL. This guy is just the gift that keeps on giving. After quoting Tucker Carlson, Ann Coulter, and a somewhat off-topic Bill O’reilly quote (O’Reilly, who I hate, states that he thinks Chretien is a bum-and decries foreign anti-Americanism- clear evidence of a tidal wave of anti-Canadian hatred existing in the United States), he oozes:
This is just the tip of the iceberg and it’s not just restricted to Canada. You right whingers have been spewing hatred against anyone and anything you don’t like for years. Just a partial list includes France, the UN, Hollywood, liberalism, the Girl Guides and I’ve even encountered one of your ilk spewing vomit all over Amnesty International. Yes, Amnesty International. How filled with blind rage do you have to be to do that?
As for my hate, it’s not directed at all Americans. I’m actually quite fond of every American that you and your ilk hate (ie. anyone who disagrees with you). My hate is only directed at you right whingers and you’ve earned it, so revel in what you’ve sown. If you don’t like it that everyone except for your own kind now hates you, change, because my hate is only in response to yours and will disappear when yours disappears. Otherwise, lick my balls you mewling sack of crap. My hate toward you and your odious right whinging brethren is only going to grow in response to your growing hatred of me. And who knows, one day we might even get to meet face to face and I’ll have no hesitation about taking our mutual hate to the next level by cracking open your skull in order to let the pent up hot air escape.
Now run along home to your mommy and tell her the bad man threatened you with violence. Then you’d best go play in the sandbox with the rest of the children because you’re too much of a snivelling pussy to play at the grownup game of politics.
Happy thoughts to you.
Like I said- The Angry Left. I am in the process of determining whether I should contact the RCMP.
*** Update #2 ***
Make that the “Angry Unhinged Left,” Robert:
Update: John “crybaby” Cole has responded–if you can call it a response–to my post and not surprisingly has chosen to be a snivelling coward by refusing to admit to his own hatred. He even goes so far as to dismiss that it even exists. It’s not surprising because as we all know, right whingers are accomplished practitioners of the art of deception.
He then goes on to make the declarative statement that the left is angry. Wow! What a master of the obvious this rube is. I eagerly await his next brainstorm where he arrives at the conclusion that water is wet.
It’s no secret that the left is angry at right whingers. After all, we have good cause for it after witnessing them embark on a murderous, 3 year campaign of vengeance that’s resulted in the slaughter of more than a 100,000 people who never caused harm to anyone and whose only “crime” was to have the misfortune of sharing the same complexion as the terrorists who attacked America more than 3 years ago. I mean, who wouldn’t be angry at just that? But when you add in the fact that the right whingers have also engaged in a 3 year campaign of demonization and persecution against anyone who disagrees with them, it’s surprising that anger is the only reaction from the left. Frankly, were I an American I would have by now left at least a dozen right whingers rolling on the ground crying “why. . .why. . .why?” like Nancy Kerrigan after she was kneecapped by Tonya Harding’s boyfriend. That the left has not reacted with the same murderous vengeance as the right is in fact a testament to the left’s civility.
John then caps off his update with a statement that is a real hoot and typical of the mentality of right whingers who send others out to do their dirty work and feel no shame in being emasculated by it.
“I am in the process of determining whether I should contact the RCMP.”
Well crybaby, let me make it easier for you to decide. Have at it and let us all know how the RCMP reacts to your mewling. In fact, I dare you to contact them. In fact, I double dog dare you. Chicken. Paintywaist. Pussy. I didn’t think you’d have the balls. Spineless wuss. Do it. Do it now yellow belly.
I’m not even going to bother. I am just going to treat this guy like I would any other lunatic. Walk away and hope someone gets him back on his meds. I have wasted enough time on this loathesome troll. He needs therapy, not attention.
*** Update ***
Apparently this sort of diseased discourse is par for the course in Canada. Lou (another Canadian) defends McClelland’s vitriole and threats in the comments section, while a Daily Kos denizen (another Canadian), seems to think this is par for the course and states:
There is some more uh.. dramatic and dark humour dialogue that continues.. If you feel like supporting a Canadian’s fight against the US right-wing blog community… please go and visit to give him some support and props
Must be something in the Canadian beer.
Larry Bernard
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I am not really sure what the difference between blackmail, and threatening some one to keep him from speaking out is.. can some one splain it to me?
Andrea Harris
Damn, the McClelloid is back. I hadn’t seen his comments around; I’d hoped he’d joined a monastery or been eaten by a moose or something. No such luck, I’m afraid. Oh well, get ready for the hail of “you rubes!”
derek
John, as a Canadian living in Ontario, I can assure you that morons like this don’t represent the country. Wait a second…my mistake, they DO represent the country.
You see, the Canadian and American left have lots in common. In particular, the fact that their memory span is limited to about 15 minutes. I sincerely hope that our minority government collapses soon and that people will actually take into account the bullshit that has been going on for the last 12 years.
Geoff Matthews
As a Canadian living in the U.S. (dual citizen, raised in Canada), I have been disheartened to see the amount of anti-American bile spilling out of Canada, particularly out of the government. In it’s quest for an identity, Canada has become re-active to the U.S. Calling something “american” is becoming akin to calling it fascist. Sadly, this is what passes for serious argument in some notable circles in Canada.
Lou
Since I’m a fan of My Blahg, let me counterbalance the oh-so serious and conciliatory comments of my fellow Canadians above. Animosity is there, make no mistake about it. However, not only does the American Right treat its own indigenous opposition with seething contempt, but its members quite often cross over to Canadian forums (whether American issues are being discussed or not) to tell us how deficient, stupid, and inconsequential we are, and that we should be nuked (…or something along those lines.) Believe me, just a simple critique of Bush or his administrations policies can unleash a flurry of “Canada SUX!” You can be mature and ignore it, or just let ‘er rip, and give back the same (…all in good fun, eh?)
Oh, and to the Canadian quislings above…Do you really believe that Americans are so generally stupid that they’ll buy that mythical version of what you think really constitutes public discourse here? That we’re all sitting around bitching about the States 24/7?
And please, no references to Carolyn Parrish and Francoise Ducros; that’s so played.
John Cole
Yet, apparently Lou finds threats like this of no consequence:
“My hate toward you and your odious right whinging brethren is only going to grow in response to your growing hatred of me. And who knows, one day we might even get to meet face to face and I’ll have no hesitation about taking our mutual hate to the next level by cracking open your skull in order to let the pent up hot air escape.”
Lou
You’re right, I don’t. Not at all. And you can print that.
Hey, don’t blame him for setting the bar so low. What about Coulter? What about O’Reilly? What about Carlson? And these are people featured daily on your airwaves, not some blog stuck all the way up there in a cold and forgotten part of the cybersphere.
Ralph Gizzip
I’ll see your Coulter, O’Reilly, and Carlson with a Maureen Dowd, Chris Matthews, and Paul Begala. I’ll raise you with a Molly Ivins, Keith Olbermann, and Al Hunt.
We don’t have to believe the Leftist media in Canada is bashing America 24/7 because we hear it quite enough right here at home.
BumperStickerist
What’s intriguing is ODub’s ass-ertion that the rightwing is more in lockstep than the left.
This, to me, is fascinating as for most of the election cycle Duncan couldn’t go more than a couple of hours at a crack before talking up one of Markos’s posts, and vice versa.
It was pure log-rolling.
Meanwhile, Glenn pretty much passes around links the way J.D. Rockefeller passed out dimes.
C’mon
.. nano-technology?
.. carnival of the this-and-that
.. “here go read these blogs”
.. Grand effing Rounds
.. digital camera
.. Sullivan, post-Kerry endorsement
.. Lileks
and so on and so on and so on.
Meanwhile, the echo chamber that is Eschaton and the left-side of the blogosphere with the cluster fuck cross posting of links to Digby, Matt Y., Marshall, with Wolcott thrown in to make it … literary is too strong a word …Manhatten-ish.
Jeez O’Grady … it’s no wonder the Left needs to create a series self-affinity groups through slogans like ‘Reality Based Community” and “There is No Crisis” and whatever Willis’ Prancing Donkey/Stupid Slogan campaign is … absent each other, the top-drawing lib blogs have no ideas.
There’s also the issue of, you know, content. Markos, for all his obvious shortcomings, at least writes. Otoh, Duncan would be hardpressed to extend a blog entry beyond ‘wankers’ without showing himself to be the ‘recovering economist’ he is.
But I’m sure his students liked him fine … if any of them actually found work int their field after attending Duncan’s classes.
Lou
I am in the process of determining whether I should contact the RCMP.
No, no…wrong tactic. Totally unrewarding. Contact Homeland Security (I forget what the Citizen’s Denunciation hotline number is, but you can look it up) and snitch. Then, the next time Robert crosses the Ambassador Bridge for some late-night White-Castle in Detroit, they’ll deport him to Syria. That’ll show him.
Lou
We don’t have to believe the Leftist media in Canada is bashing America 24/7 because we hear it quite enough right here at home.
It’s revelatory that you would conflate domestic critique of your own country with that originating in a foreign one, as if both are equivalently alien to “your” America.
Robin Roberts
Lou, Canadians only get deported to Syria when the Canadian government cooperates. In the absence of that cooperation, we send them to Newfoundland.
Meanwhile, you need to deal with the fact that quite a lot of Canadians are unhinged.
Lou
Hey, who deports ‘er, dealt ‘er (…or something like that). I’m still waiting on the final answer about who was at fault. Believe me, I’ve no illusions the RCMP didn’t have something to do with this.
As far as my concerning myself over unhinged Canadians, you’re absolutely Right…er, right…tell ya what; you take care of Jesusland, and I’ll look after Stephen Harper, Rachel Marsden and Adam Yoshida…after all, a couple of grams of Dyprexia with an Atavan chaser ought to do it.
John Cole
To my knowledge, the best way to deal with wingnuts on both sides of the aisle is to keep talking More political speech, not less, if you know what I mean.
Unfortunately, Mr. McClelland does not share that opinion, and apparently neither does Lou.
Lou
Oh, I beg to differ. I agree that talking More political speech is the best way to deal with wingnuts.
…naw, I’m lying. I have no idea what you mean.

applogies John, Some things just live the my rocket.
I’ll ignore him.
Bob Smith
Jeez John, you really hit a nerve over at Myblagh. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Robert that angry before in his actual posts. There have been some who state that this is how he writes in comments on other blogs but to date he has always denied that was him.
Actually, for any Canadians on here Myblahg has a very good blog roll for Canadian sites and every Wednesday does a round-up of Canadian posts that have led me to some new blogs that I quite like.
Of course as a left wing Canadian I do have to take offence to one of your statements John – Robert is a liberal, which puts him centre-right in Canadian politics.
As a social-democrat, I would prefer not to be lumped in with liberals if I can help it.
Robert McClelland
Right, I must be really angry. It couldn’t have anything to do with the fact that I left a comment over on Oliver’s blog and Instarube and John started trash talking about me. Nah, it must be just a case of spontaneous anger by another deranged lefty.
capt joe
Bob, I can understand that. Hard to believe he is on the right unless it was the far far right.
I have read those comments on jarvis’s site, damian penny, etc. There were pretty noxious, but I don’t recall him ever denying making them.

There is STILL some irony left in the world: Canada, in its breakneck race to descend from a nice, average place where folks could generally do what they wanted if they just didn’t kill anybody, to a socialist 1984-style hellhole, has recently enacted some truly shocking and draconian laws criminalizing “hate” speech and writing. Nationality is included as a potential subject of that nasty criminal hatred. Hmmm, let’s see. McClelland’s screed was writing; it was sure as heck full of hate. So will McClelland be charged with Internet Hate Speech, First Degree, by the Mounties? Oh, wait. You’re an AMERICAN. You’re supposed to jusy take contempt and insults from ungrateful, ignorant, intellectually dishonest moral cowards. After all, the Candian Constituion, such as it is, doesn’t provide any protections to non-citizens. It’s only the US Constituiton that does that.
Lou
By the way, since you’re deleting posts…freedom of speech…shriek!, you might also want to delete Izzy’s above. It’s extremely vulgar.
Or not. As if I fucking care.
John Cole
Lou- I have no idea what it said. I am assuming it was in Hebrew.
Lou
So will McClelland be charged with Internet Hate Speech
Here’s a thought. Why don’t you Google Canada’s hate propaganda laws, read up on them, and come back with a more informed comment. I don’t know about you, but my head might actually explode when one…1…American actually understands how those laws work in Canada and how they are prosecuted. And really, who wouldn’t want to see my head explode, right? Believe me, it would be a far more satisfying experience than those Orwellian dystopic stories about Canada you read your children to sleep by.
Just Passing Through
John,
Steve (SMG) was right. Holding this comment thread open will serve no purpose but to provide a host for McClelland and Lou. Bury the carcass before more blowflies arrive.
JPT
Lou
John, you can google the Hebrew transliteration and find out exactly what it means.
…and HA HA…once more, one of your minions calls for the shutdown of your comments…You know, that NEVER happens among lefties. Never. I’ve never seen a comment section shut down because someone didn’t like what I was posting, and, curiously, your the first person to delete any comments I’ve ever posted.
Freedom of Speech? Censorship?
What a fucking joke.
Lou
After all, the Candian Constituion, such as it is, doesn’t provide any protections to non-citizens. It’s only the US Constituiton that does that.
I’m not sure what the US Constitution does, but the Canadian one protects every person on Canadian soil regardless of citizenship (even if they’re in transit). The only thing it doesn’t do for non-citizens in transit is guarantee residency; for that, you have to apply to be an immigrant or claim refugee status.
capt joe
Yep, pretty nasty but it was directed at me so what do I care.
I think John made the statement that he wasn’t going to shut things down so stop hyperventilating.
And to be fair, he deleted the entire exchange which was a good call.
Patrick
Is that Lou “Mr Free Speech”, who lists a fake e-mail address? Brave chap, indeed.
And by the way, Lou baby. Censorship is a governmental term, which you could also Google. This is John’s home, he sets the table and decides who can sit and eat.
So fuck off, cold-weather cockroach.

Hey I was born and raised in Canada and I agree that it sucks badly…..we are nothing but a UN worshipping backstabbing whore!!
Thankfully, I live in the best and most pro American province of Alberta and out here in the West, we are generally far more supportive and appreciative of America’s efforts against Islamic terrorism etc etc..
Canada absolutetly deserves to be ridiculed…..I agree……think of Vermont or Ted Kennedy land and imagine a larger version of that then you have Canada….

Thankfully, I live in the best and most pro American province of Alberta and out here in the West, we are generally far more supportive and appreciative of America’s efforts against Islamic terrorism etc etc..
Oh, Alberta…Aberta, Alberta, Alberta. So unloved. So unappreciated by everyone else in Canada. Especially here in Ontario. Don’t worry; your time will come. Keep reaching for the stars. John,
I’m disappointed that you would make a stupid comment like this:
“Apparently this sort of diseased discourse is par for the course in Canada.”
Can you please refrain from generalizing about my country and it’s citizens?
I am Canadian. Love America. Loathe the Canadian Left. And that wingnut is a disgrace. Attack him for what *HE* said. An individual. He is not speaking for me, or millions of other Canucks. “par for the course”??? Why??? Because there’s more than 1 lefty lunatic in Canada? C’mon.
Far too often when an American disagrees with something a Canadian says, does, or writes, they project that onto the entire nation. How STUPID!!! Would you do that for blacks, Jews, etc.? Doubtful.
You’re better than that.
Lou
Oooh…there’s something unsettling about that last comment. Maybe you should delete it, John.
Or, at least shut down the comments.

McClelland has been a regular troll at Damian Penny, Jeff Jarvis, and other blogs for months. Sorry you got infected. Not sure what the cure is.

He got these ideas from a dishonest CBC doc where Al Franken openly wept and a CBC reporter distorted the facts about what his own news organization had found about Canadian support of Vietnam to make Ann Coulter look foolish.

Stop lying, HH.

I can understand where robert is coming from. When the lady prime minster was bashing America in word the right was all up in arms about how wrong it was to bash their partner who has stood by them all along. But we have one right wing blow hard after another bashing Canada and Canadians, and well I don’t see the defense coming out of right wing web sites. Is ignoring it and turning a blind eye going to make it go away? Or will right wing web sites through their silence allow this to become the message of main stream media?
Seems the sides you take show more of who you are than any word coming out of your mouth.

A lot of canadian GDP was tied up in the continuation of the vietnam war.

Lou is projecting here. The keyboard machismo, accusations of no life beyond the net etc etc – these are the dead giveaways. One short visit to McClelland’s blog takes away the distinct impression that Lou is McClelland’s alter ego – responding to his own posts to generate a false discourse. The style and phrasing says that if Lou is not McClelland, he is his doppleganger.
He is also very uninformed about Canadian matters. Either he is not Canadian at all, or believes a declaration of being knowledgable is being knowledgable without basic fact checking. My money is on the second explanation. At any rate, he has embarrassed hinself multiple times already in this thread.
He’ll revisit today and ramp up the rhetoric. My advice to John Cole still stands. The post itself was ill-advised and John realized this in his last update to it. You cannot have any discourse with lunatics like McClelland (or Lou if you like). This has been show this over and over again on blog after blog that has had to eventually ban this asshat. It’s pointless to even point out the lunacy in a post. It validates him in his own mind and draws him back again and again.
John, he is a pest and not a very entertaining one at that. He adds nothing. Either ban the clown or close the thread but rid yourself of him.

I don’t know, guys… Lou hasn’t used “rubes” or “right-whingers” even once. Do you really think Robert would be able to hold it in this long?
Just Passing Through
capt joe,
He believes himself clever, but has been outed over and over again. There is always the strident insistence that he knows Canadian affairs and that all Canadians share his worldview concerning Bush and the US. The Canadians responding that his worldview is actually shared by the minority get the ‘Albertans are cowboys”, “the Maritimes are realy Canadian” song and dance. And there is always the easy exposure of his assertations as personal opinion rather than factual.
An assclown is an assclown is an assclown whether it is one person with multiple handles or rob, McClelland, and Lou are one and the same.
Just Passing Through
Sorry – “the Maritimes AREN’T realy Canadian”.
For the record, McClelland has used the rube and right-whinger phrases many times in his rob incarnation. Lou hasn’t used the phrases in this thread, but pushes the concepts hard. That is why I said he might merely be a McClelland doppleganger – a slighted distorted reflection of the original but a different entity. How one sees the distortion is relative.
Be that as it may, discussing Lou. rob, or McClelland only feeds his ego. I’m also guilty as charged, but that what happens in the discussion threads of posts that expose these idiots and why they should either be banned once they make known their response to the post or the thread closed.

I found this part amusing:
“John “crybaby” Cole has responded–if you can call it a response–to my post and not surprisingly has chosen to be a snivelling coward by refusing to admit to his own hatred.”
The psychological term for this is called projection, I believe. Since he’s a whiny, feces-flinging, hate-filled whackjob, someone who disagrees with him, but doesn’t admit to being filled with foaming at the mouth hatred, is obviously a lying coward. Nice.

Calm down, everyone. Those of you in the relatively-civilized blogworld overreact to these impotent trolls, who are as common on political boards as 12-year-olds claiming they served in ‘Nam.
Look, how much could this McClellan guy’s opinion matter? I seriously can’t think of anything as redundantly irrelevant as a Canadian Leftist.

While it’s always a bit dicey to attempt a diagnosis of someone from a removed distance, Lou has left a number of clues to his damaged psyche in his numerous posts, including those removed by our host. Venturing a few guesses, I would put his age at early 30’s, a probable post-graduate student with limited success and near-failing grades, a hyperbolic disposition bordering on severe psychosis and an overall problem in maintaining good relationships with live humans.
Also, it is highly probable that Lou suffers from periodic bouts of impotence that are not mitigated by such drugs as Viagra. He is probably also incontinent from time to time.

Lou, your comments completely embody the corrupt Liberal mindset that governs our country.
Perhaps if you remove the brainwashing helmet from your little head, you’ll realize that your fingertip grip on reality isn’t what you thought it was.
I also like your generalization of Western Canada as a bunch of beer guzzling, tailgating red necks. Maybe if Ontario and your best friend Quebec didn’t hold 181 seats, Western Canada wouldn’t have to bitch and complain you ignorant moron. You think Ontario would actually REMEMBER the lies they were being fed when they voted in snake-in-the-grass Dalton, but as usual the 15 minute memory span had already reset.
Robin Roberts
Interesting links, Ernest. My point is not really to attack Canada per se, nor even really to make a “you do it too” claim, on the basis of this history.
My point is really more of an astonishment of the ignorance and state of non-reality that so many in Canada work from. Happens here in the US too, where we get people who listen to complete frauds like Noam Chomsky, Ward Churchill, Howard Zinn et al.

Of course, since he needs to fit all of the world into one of two boxes, he won’t understand why this is so.

It’s always the freedom-loving rightists who censor their comments, eh?
BTW, is this “political speech”? You blog about a comment someone made on someone else’s blog and then he blogs about your blog?
It only *looks like* a circle jerk? You’ll never beat McClelland at that, you know.
Robin Roberts
We bow to your superior knowledge of “circles” and “jerks”.

Maybe if Ontario and your best friend Quebec didn’t hold 181 seats, Western Canada wouldn’t have to bitch and complain you ignorant moron.
Well, since those two provinces comprise close to 20 million of the 31 million people in Canada, then my response is:
…suck it up, whiners.

I generally like our frozen hippie neighbors up north, but they should keep in mind that they’re allowed to be happy-go-lucky peacemongers because of their proximity to the US. If they were 3,000 to the right on the map they’d now be known as the Former Republic of Canadistan
Where's The Beef?
In the 1960s and early 1970s, Canada and Australia had populations of similar size. Both Canadians and served in about the same numbers and suffered similar numbers of casualties. The major difference was that Australia sent its men in the uniform of their country while Canadians fought in the uniform of the USA (for the most part). This intermingling also occured, for example, when thousands of Americans enlisted in the Canadian forces at the outbreak of WWII but a couple of years before the USA itself declared war.
At the height of Australian involvement in South Vietnam, around 8,500 troops were deployed there — almost 20% of the entire Australian military of 45,000 service members. From 1962 to 1972 about 50,000 Australians served in Vietnam — 2400 wounded and 425 killed in action — more than 1000 won awards for their service. The country had a population of about 20 million.
The contribution of Canadians was comparable. The country’s population was about 22 million and at any given time its armed forces numbered about 80,000 service members. During the 1960s the Canadian government reduced its military manpower by about 20,000, or 25%. From 1959 to 1975, approximately 40,000 Canadians served in South Vietnam with various militaries but primarily in the US forces. Most were volunteers. Canadians joined the Marines at a rate that was three times that of Americans. As many as 400 were killed in action and another 4,000 were physically wounded.
So when anyone suggests that Canada did not send troops to South Vietnam, they really ought to clarify the context in which Canadians did fight communism and defended the citizens of South Vietnam.
Also, the 2nd-ranking officer leading the Coalition forces in Iraq today is a general in the Canadian military. You might be forgiven if you wanted to check that and get back later. This is just another case of classic Canadian ambiguity where American foreign policy is concerned.
Where's The Beef?
Clarification: “approximately 40,000 Canadians served with various militaries (other than Canadian) during the Vietnam war — primarily with the US forces. About 10,000-12,000 served in Vietnam itself — primarily under the US flag.”
