A few days ago, I made some pointed comments about Sean Penn (I called him a blithering idiot- which I still stand by), and then I linked him to a less than flattering piece from the Drudge Report. That piece was supposed to be a transcript, but as Avedon Carol has noticed, it bears no resemblance to the CNN transcript. In fact, you can’t even find where the Drudge snippet is supposed to be in the CNN transcript.

I have been informed by a reader that the Drudge transcript was a joke, poking fun at Penn’s speech patterns.

What gives, Drudge? CNN? I still think Penn is a useful idiot, and he has admitted as much, but this is nonsense. If anyone knows what is going on here, please email me, so if necessary, I can make the appropriate retraction.

The Democrat’s answer to Bill Bennett, Joe Lieberman, announced yesterday that he was running for President, Holy Joe Lashes Out!”>and then promptly lashed out at Hollywood. Apparently, Joe knows movies, and Joe knows video games, and he doesn’t like what he sees (and thus what you see). This is fabulous- I can’t wait to live in a state that combines the fiscal paternalism of the worst Democrats and the social paternalism/nanny state mentality of the rabid right-wingers. I might move to Canada- except there is no chance Joe will win. The Democrats will never, never, never elect a Jew.

After that whole Sean Penn thing, I was really concerned about what Sheryl Crow might think:

Crow accepted her award for pop-rock female artist wearing a white T-shirt emblazoned with the message “war is not the answer” in black sequins. She had the V-neck shirt specially made.

“I just think there’s a really vital, sweeping peace movement out there that’s not getting covered in the press, so I just kind of try to do my part,” she said backstage.

War is not the answer, indeed. But what is the question? Six times seven, perhaps? This next gem of a quote from Crow is a thing of sheer beauty:

“I think war is based in greed and there are huge karmic retributions that will follow. I think war is never the answer to solving any problems. The best way to solve problems is to not have enemies.”

Utter idiocy that rots to the core. One more time, with Cheryl:

“The best way to solve problems is to not have enemies.”

Imagine if Sheryl Crow were your doctor:

“Doctor Crow- My foot hurts. What should I do?”

“The best way to feel good is to not hurt.”

Is it just me, or did the sequined v-neck t-shirt do a better job of stating her case than her vacuous remarks?
