MISSING PAUL. And speaking of the so-called bias of the media, no one bothered to report on the memorial service held last night in Washington for Paul and Sheila Wellstone and their daughter and the others who perished in the crash. Perhaps the media didn’t think their readers would appreciate the quiet dignity of the service, or perhaps they were too humbled by those who spoke — David and Mark Wellstone, Colin McGinnis, Marian Wright Edeleman, David Sapertsein and others — and by Paul’s words as read by the Capitol policeman that Paul had befriended, the 5th grader who spoke about Paul’s commitment to children, Senator Domenici — who choked up at retelling his relationship with his unlikely ally — or Senator Daschle, who sounded like he knew that the Democrats had to start speaking in Paul’s voice.
Nah, they wouldn’t have found much to exploit last night. So they didn’t bother to report it.

You get that? The media only reported the first Wellstone funeral in order to exploit Democrats. Not Democrats using the media to exploit the Wellstone funeral. Snicker. So now, the media is to be blamed for catching their childish behavior on film.

Maybe they didn’t cover this one because you guys burned them so bad on the first memorial?

These guys kill me.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate’s top Democrat said Thursday that the failure of U.S. authorities to capture Osama bin Laden raises questions about “whether or not we are winning the war on terror.”

Sen. Tom Daschle’s remarks came as intelligence analysts concluded that a new audiotape almost certainly contained bin Laden’s voice and is proof that he is alive.

The NY Times does not have the entrie transcript, but I heard it on MSNBC earlier. He is ‘raising questions’ again. No specific questions, just noting that events are ‘raising some questions.’ Stay tuned for specific ‘questions’ from Daschle, and perhaps we can come up with some ‘answers’ for Daschle, so he does not become ‘worried or concerned.’

This is leadership.

Fresh from demonstrating their utter spinelessness on the issue of buggering young male children, U.S. Roman Catholic Bishops have gathered at their annual conference to draft a statement to express their moral reservations about going to war against Iraq.

Hey- You guys in the funny hats- Two words for you- “Moral Authority.”

As used in this sentence:- People who are so gutless that they can not stand up to their leadership that those who rape 9 year old boys should be treated with zero tolerance, prosecuted, and put away for life, have no MORAL AUTHORITY.

Trent Lott, Moron Look. You

Look. You won a close election. The voters trusted you on National Security. Is this the only man who could possibly be able to fill this judicial slot, or do you just want to poke the Democrats wounds and fire up their base?

A spokesman for Senator Trent Lott, the Mississippi Republican who will become majority leader next year, said the administration would also renominate Charles W. Pickering Sr., the other Bush candidate defeated outright during the Democrats’ period of control.

“Senator Lott fully intends to bring up Judge Pickering’s nomination again next year,” said Ron Bonjean, his spokesman. Judge Pickering, a federal trial judge in Mississippi, was also rejected on a party-line vote for a seat on the Fifth Circuit.

I kind of like the title ‘Outgoing Majority Leader Daschle,’ almost as much as I like the title ‘Minority Leader Daschle.’ Apparently Trent Lott does not. When all else fails, consult Forrest Gump:

“Stupid is as stupid does.”

I am getting a lot of flack for this. Let me clear the air:

I think what the Dems did was wrong. However, they have spent the last two years whipping up hysteria about conservatives packing thew courts. Independent voters last week did not voter for Republicans for a renewed culture wars. All Lott is doing right now, by TALKING about judges is giving the Dems ammo. Can;t this wait a couple of months? Can’t he at least actually be Majority leader for a day before this talk starts? Or does he just want to provide the Dems with ammo so that they can shoot him in the back?
