You know those dour, serious looks Democrats are always giving? You know the ones- like when Daschle asking about ‘fundamental fairness’ and raising ‘serious questions.’ Or how about Nancy Pelosi rolling her eyes and smirking during the SOTU address? It was the kind of thing that makes you want to retch. Or Hillary, incapable of smiling and making it through an entire speech without swearing or chit-chatting with Lieberman. At any rate, these obnoxious attitudes, the incessant whining, and the general pessimism and negativity do not sell well. They think they are being more aggressive, but this is how the nation at large is starting to view them:
Democrat Are Still The Party Of Communists
The normally even-keeled Kos has gone off the deep-end, most likely because of Ricky West’s incessant provocations. Normally when Kos comes out with both barrels blazing, people should watch out. This time, he shoots himself right in the integrity. Go read it. I will wait.
Yeap- the G.O.P. is the party of racists- why? Because Kos and other bloggers say so. I guess it is time to update my klan membership. But lets look at something for a second. Let’s apply the Democrats most hated smear, with the same looseness of facts. Let’s try to tar all Democrats as closet reds- fair is fair, right? So, without delay, here is the evidence that the Democrats are the Party of Communists:
1.) Hillary Clinton’s friendly association with the following groups: National Lawyers Guild, CISPES, the New World Foundation, as well as her early writings, association with communist groups, and visceral opposition to the money and greed of the 80’s while cashing in on insider information, and her Michael Lerner inspired religious views.
2.) Bill Clinton. Not only did he leap at the opportunity to normalize relations with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a war he skipped and spent in London and Moscow being indoctrinated by the hard corp communist left, but Clinton spent years raising campaign money from the Communist Chinese, but he also turned away from evidence that his administration was allowing secret missile technology to head to the Chinese.
3.) Bernie Sanders– do I need to post more on him? As I have learned from Kos today, a hit is a hit.
4.) The Congressional Progressive Caucus
5.) Barbara Lee, Cynthia McKinney, and Ron “Red” Dellums.
6.) Democrats and A.N.S.W.E.R.– Hey- a smear is a smear, might as well go all out.
7.) The Democrats Southern Strategy- telling all African-Americans that a vote for a Republican is a vote for a church burner, a vote for lynching, or the dragging death of Bames Byrd. I am not even bothering to link to it.
I could go on and on, but what is the point? I am sure there are a number of Democrats reading this who are surprised to have woken up this morning only to learn they are Communists. Believe me- I was surprised to learn I was a racist this morning- it really pissed me off, because I just bought brand new linen (a really high count). Now that I am in the party of racists, I guess I have to go cut holes in my pillowcases. I hope someone will be kind enough to direct me to tonight’s cross-burning. I have never been to one before.
Get it, Kos? There are racists in the Republican party. There are racists in the Democrat party. There are communists, socialists, etc. in the Democrat party. Big deal. I don’t think the handful of communists in the party have any more of an impact on the party agenda than the racists have on the mainstream of the G.O.P. You guys can stop the smearing anytime, particularly since it gets us nowhere.
Obviously, the response will be that the Republicans use ‘secret code’ and do things to ‘send the message’ to the racists. Amusing that the only people to know the ‘code words’ any more are Democrats.

Enough is Enough!
From the comments section at DailyPundit:
After thirty years as a registered Democrat, I’ve finally had enough of their pandering to parasites, no-hacks, freeloaders, the strategically thin-skinned and the tactically aggrieved, Marxist academics, watermelon environmentalists, Hollywood dimwits (why the hell should I give a shit what Sheryl Crow thinks???), brainless, aging peacenik hippies, corrupt union bosses and doctrinaire feminist loonies whose inscrutable vagina logic leads them to the conclusion that bikinis worn in America are just as oppressive to women as burkhas worn in Afghanistan.
Yes, enough is enough: today I walked down to the courthouse and registered as a Republican.
Fuck you, Tom Daschle.

Hehe.
Are Democrats Lying Again?
The Democrats lost the Senate in the last election, but they refuse to give up power, and want unparalled financing and power- in other words, they want to keep running things, even though they don’t.
A dispute over the composition of Senate committees in the new Congress has boiled over into a full-blown battle, with the Senate’s Republican leadership accusing Democrats of attempting a coup.
Democrats are refusing to agree to a GOP proposal on the composition and funding of committees unless they get higher than typical representation.
Normally, the majority party receives an average of two-thirds of the committee budget, while the minority receives the remainder. Because the Senate is in GOP hands, the Republicans had wanted the typical ratios for committees, but because the GOP advantage is only by a single vote, Democrats want a better deal.
The Democrats’ argument is based on the agreement in the last Congress — when the Senate was initially split 50-50 — that allowed the Republicans to keep even committee ratios after power shifted to the Democrats when Sen. Jim Jeffords, I-Vt., left the GOP. The only leverage available is the threat to filibuster any organization agreement the Republicans offer.
In other words, they want what is not theirs. Anyone who pays taxes can tell you this is a familiar pattern of behavior.
Assistant Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said his party only wanted what it had given the GOP in the same situation in the last Congress — committee ratios that reflect the closely divided Senate’s composition.
“We are only asking for what we offered the Republicans the last time the Senate was 51 to 49,” Reid said on the Senate floor.
But because that agreement was part of an unusual situation — namely an evenly split Senate that was organized in that manner — a nonpartisan Senate expert described that claim as true only to a point.
“It’s politically true,” he said. “But you can’t say it’s exactly true. That past deal was negotiated when the Senate was even and reflected the fact it could change.
“Here the GOP is clearly the majority party and the Democrats are trying to get a better deal than any other minority party has ever received.”
My goodness, these are just tiresome people.
Paging Joseph Biden
In the opening of his State of the State speech, Gov. Gray Davis used the same ideas and many of the same words that President Clinton used in his first State of the Union address — a similarity so striking that it prompted charges Thursday of plagiarism.
In his speech, seen by many as the most important of his career, Davis on Wednesday echoed themes Clinton had outlined 10 years earlier: In both cases, the politicians said the ailing economy demanded their full attention and that only a united effort could rescue the economy from its doldrums.
Davis even repeated one sentence verbatim. Referring to the economies of the United States in 1993 and California in 2003, both said, “But these are not ordinary times.”
Steve Maviglio, Davis’ spokesman, declined to comment. The governor’s speech writer, Jason Kinney, dismissed the parallels as an “accidental homage.”
Hey- cut him some slack. What is a little perjury plagiarism amongst friends?
*** UPDATE ***
Joe Arrieta, who is no right winger, SAVAGES Davis in a post in the must-read Political State Report. Who exactly voted for this guy?
Joe states emphatically:

The odious left continues their smear of all Republicans as racist, and this one is a peach. Read Dave Niewart’s post (of course via Atrios, who seems to have amassed a network of bottom-feeders):
Here’s an excerpt from from an interview Matt Hale gave a columnist for the Greenwich Village Gazette Aug. 8, 2000:
The caller also told me that he was now leaning toward Bush and that his victory in November would give him and the white-supremacist movement “cause for celebration and hope.”
The man calling himself Mr. Hale told me that he was persuaded by Bush after watching both party conventions this summer.
“The conventions left me with the impression that the Democrats actually mean it when they say they want a diverse tent and the Republicans are like ‘OK, this is a way to get some votes so let’s go throw bait to the blacks.’ So they trot out their yard (N-word) for show and dress them better than black democrats could ever dream of.”
Bush was endorsed by Hale, David Duke and Don Black of Stormfront. This is not to imply that Bush is racist. Rather, it is clear that he makes enough gestures that are interpreted by extremists as sympathetic to gain their votes.
BOLD ITALICS= Niewart, Italics = Village Voice Gazette
Hey Niewart? Who did Pol Pot favor? How about Osama- did he watch the conventions? Who do you think he wanted? He seemed to be doing o.k. under Clinton/Gore, so maybe Gore could have put off enough gestures to let him think he would be able to get away with a couple more embassy bombings. What about Hussein? Did he want Gore or Bush? Fill me in, please.
This is the kind of absurd shit that once again gets chalked up in the “Why I Won’t Vote For Democrats” category. The mere notion that Bush is sending code words, or gestures to white supremacist groups is absolutely absurd. Funny how they could only be understood by twerps like Hale and morons who want to try to make something about it (Niewart, anyone?). What was the signal? Is it because Colin Powell is more of a light-skinned black? Fill us in, Mr. Hale and Mr. Niewart.
And don’t you love the weasel words- he searches for a quote from Hale in a back-issue of the Village Voice Gazette (how many of you had that one handy?), implying CLEARLY that Bush is employing code words and gestures to woo racists and supremacists, and then tries to deny what he is actually stating.
You get the foam brick the next time I see you on MSNBC, Niewart.

Worst Post on Daily Kos
Kos has been busy with the Political State Report, so Billmon and Steve Soto have been filling in, doing a decent job. Until today. Check out this crap winner from Billmon:
White Supremacist Matt Hale was arrested in Chicago Tuesday allegedly for soliciting the murder of a United States District Court judge.
The East Peoria leader of the World Church of the Creator was at the federal courthouse in Chicago to appear at a contempt of court hearing on an infrigment lawsuit. Federal agents arrested him when he entered the building.
This is most unfortunate, as I understand the Republican Senate was looking for a new chaplain.
Billmon
The italics is from the news story, the bold is Billmon’s obnoxious musing.
Get it? Subtle, hunh? Republicans look to white supremacists for spiritual guidance. Funny, hunh?
By that logic, I guess because H. Rap Brown sided with many Democrats, the Senate Democrats are all cop-killers.
Because Fidel Castro likes a single-payer health care system, all Senate Democrats who like that idea must be communists.
Grow up, folks.
