Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

“A king is only a king if we bow down.” – Rev. William Barber

Reality always lies in wait for … Democrats.

Books are my comfort food!

It may be funny to you motherfucker, but it’s not funny to me.

The arc of history bends toward the same old fuckery.

You cannot shame the shameless.

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

I really should read my own blog.

Roe is not about choice. It is about freedom.

Republicans seem to think life begins at the candlelight dinner the night before.

With all due respect and assumptions of good faith, please fuck off into the sun.

“Alexa, change the president.”

Michigan is a great lesson for Dems everywhere: when you have power…use it!

Since when do we limit our critiques to things we could do better ourselves?

How stupid are these people?

Damn right I heard that as a threat.

Shut up, hissy kitty!

Today in our ongoing national embarrassment…

“woke” is the new caravan.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

Giving in to doom is how we fail to fight for ourselves & one another.

There is no right way to do the wrong thing.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

Henry (pronounced ‘enery) is a good boy, and as such should get all of the toys, treats, etc.

My late lamented German Shepherd ( best dog ever!!!) had this thing about black noses on stuffed animals. She bit them all off. Large stuffed bears. Tiny stuffed mice. Stuffed coyote. It it was a stuffed mammal with a black nose, she would bite it off.

She died many years ago. Only this last week did I stitch black satin noses back onto all those stuffed animals. There were a lot of them. They do look much better now.

    This sucks!

Appeals Court Allows Trump Order That Ends Union Protections for Federal Workers

A famously liberal circuit court ruled in President Trump’s favor, authorizing a component of his sweeping effort to assert more control over the federal bureaucracy.
A federal appeals court on Friday allowed President Trump to move forward with an order instructing a broad swath of government agencies to end collective bargaining with federal unions.
The ruling authorizes a component of Mr. Trump’s sweeping effort to assert more control over the federal work force to move forward, for now, while the case plays out in court.
It is unclear what immediate effect the ruling will have: The appeals court noted that the affected agencies had been directed to refrain from ending any collective bargaining agreement until “litigation has concluded,” but also noted that Mr. Trump was now free to follow through with the order at his discretion.

U.S. health officials have told more than a half-dozen of the nation’s top medical organizations that they will no longer help establish vaccination recommendations.

The government told the organizations on Thursday via email that their experts are being disinvited from the workgroups that have been the backbone of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

The organizations include the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.

“I’m concerned and distressed,” said Dr. William Schaffner, a Vanderbilt University vaccine expert who for decades has been involved with ACIP and its workgroups.

He said the move will likely propel a confusing fragmentation of vaccine guidance, as patients may hear the government say one thing and hear their doctors say another.

My former golden loved squeak toys. She would bite them, then let them squeal slowly and piercingly by letting the air back in gradually. It drove me nuts. I switched to only outdoor squeak toys, the rubbery heavy duty ones that lasted longer for the big dog any way, and made her leave them at the back door. She was a good dog, but sometimes she did try to sneak one in the house. A really good dog. She used to come to the back door when she wanted back in, and give one polish woof, then wait.

Gvg:  My former golden loved squeak toys

About 50  years ago our family pet dog would get a squeaky toy for Christmas and the squeaking drove him nuts.  Finally he figured out that he just needed to remove the little noisemaker and the squeaking stopped.  From then on every time he saw a squeaky toy he would pounce on it, remove the squeaker, and from then on just ignore the toy,

Our two greys have lots of toys. One of them is an enormous bear that each likes to steal from whoever currently has it, and occasionally that develops into a very amusing tug of war.
