Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

“A king is only a king if we bow down.” – Rev. William Barber

He wakes up lying, and he lies all day.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the gop

In my day, never was longer.

I would try pessimism, but it probably wouldn’t work.

How any woman could possibly vote for this smug smarmy piece of misogynistic crap is beyond understanding.

These are not very smart people, and things got out of hand.

Sometimes the world just tells you your cat is here.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

Pessimism assures that nothing of any importance will change.

Sitting here in limbo waiting for the dice to roll

Thanks to your bullshit, we are now under siege.

Not loving this new fraud based economy.

If a good thing happens for a bad reason, it’s still a good thing.

The real work of an opposition party is to oppose.

One lie, alone, tears the fabric of reality.

Tick tock motherfuckers!

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

So many bastards, so little time.

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

Also, are you sure you want people to rate your comments?

If rights aren’t universal, they are privilege, not rights.

You don’t get to peddle hatred on saturday and offer condolences on sunday.

Does John McCain celebrate Father’s Day twice–once for the family he abandoned and once for the wife and kids he has now?

When will the Feminist blogs show any outrage over this?

    I wonder why.

And once more in secret for the “black baby” his pal GWB claimed he sired.

    Busy guy.

My dad had to go through emergency hip replacement surgery yesterday! Out with his bicycling group, makes a bad turn, lands on a hip that had been bothering him anyway. He tries to make light of it — very him — but a doctor in the group says, “Um, no” and off to the hospital. It was going to be a partial hip replacement but once he was opened up they saw that it was arthritis already giving him incipient trouble and asked my mom if they should go ahead with a full replacement. She’s all “Heck yes,” and it’s done.

It is perhaps emblematic of my folks that during the whole time my mom wasn’t worried or flustered even once — much to the surprise of my dad’s bicycling buddies and the hospital staff (she says it must have had something to do with being a military wife all those years) — while my dad’s biggest regrets right now lie in not being able to attend the Olympic track trials up in Eugene. He is, however, utterly thrilled at the idea of the new hip being made out of titanium. As my cousin said to me just now on the phone, “At last, he’s part of the bike.”

Happy Father’s Day to all and hope yours don’t land on bad hips while they’re out and about!

Wow, Paul, your site has got the eye-grinding color scheme and layout of the internet circa 1996. It took me back.

I am curious as to what the hell a “Feminist” blog is, but fear the answer. To answer your stupid question, there has been outrage from all quarters of the internet, not just “feminist blogs” over this horrific crime, but that’s not good enough for you, is it?

You’re looking for something very specific, aren’t you, Paul?

Since there’s only one VNN, you may want to try looking for it there.

    Happy Father’s Day!
    Our son is autistic.
Sometimes people say that must be tough.
It would be far worse if he wasn’t in our lives.

We should have nice weather in Chicago this week with temps in the 70s.

The Texas GOP is meeting in Houston this weekend. I’m not saying that there are more stupid people in Texas than anywhere else; I’m not saying that the people in Texas are stupider than the people anywhere else; I’m just saying that only Texas produces that unique blend of stupid and crazy.

Susan at Kiss My Big Blue Butt has an article about the GOP Platform Committee. One Robert Hurt is incensed about all the nudity in Washington, DC. Not in the strip clubs; he’s talking about public art.

Ok, finally got to the article, about a man who raped a woman and tortured her for hours and tried to burn her apartment down and…

Was this guy a friend of yours?
