    I use the camera sometimes to Skype and such, so I just keep a Post-it over it the rest of the time.

    Though I’m told that the Macbook camera is now wired in such a way that it’s impossible for the camera to be on without the light also coming on. I don’t know if that’s true, but it would be nice.

    No, I know of others. I just try to dress well and make sure I have a recent shave if I use my laptop. One wants to look one’s best.

    I read somewhere that Siouxsie now lives in the South of France and still gets recognized occasionally by her fans. I personally am just amazed that somebody would recognize somebody who’s not really been in the public eye for over fifteen years and that when they were in the public eye, they had a ton of wild make up and clothes.

    “The Whole of the Moon” is one of my favourite albums. There’s such a sense of … I don’t know, celebration? in the music. I’ve loved that one since my brother gave it to me for Christmas in 1985, and it’s been getting quite a bit of play just recently. Along with their “A Rock in the Weary Land” when I’m in a grimmer mood. Mike Scott was definitely not in a happy place when he made that album: check out the video for Let It Happen (youtube.com/watch?v=57TOnlvqK18).

    Sorry to hear about the family situation; hope it goes as well as that kind of thing ever can.

    @MikeJ: She was involved (in a weird way) with Evan Dando from the Lemonheads for quite a while. Dando had problems; Hatfield had sexual hang-ups. It made for good music. She may well have done harmony on the original.

    @dance around in your bones: The last time I saw Clinton was in Columbus, Ohio, about 12 years ago. The best thing about the concert was the way the cops handled drug use. I saw a cop walk by a dude hitting a joint, and the cop’s response to say “Come on, have some respect. If you see me walking by, have the decency to hold the thing out of my sight.”

    I use a couple Post-It chips, they don’t leave as much stickum on the lens when you peel them off.
