Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Hey hey, RFK, how many kids did you kill today?

The desire to stay informed is directly at odds with the need to not be constantly enraged.

The arc of the moral universe does not bend itself. it is up to us to bend it.

How stupid are these people?

I’m starting to think Jesus may have made a mistake saving people with no questions asked.

It’s all just conspiracy shit beamed down from the mothership.

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

I’ve spoken to my cat about this, but it doesn’t seem to do any good.

We know you aren’t a Democrat but since you seem confused let me help you.

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

The low info voters probably won’t even notice or remember by their next lap around the goldfish bowl.

This place is nicer than my hospital. I might come here and bark the next time I am unwell.

Lily is in the back being assessed. It’s a small thing, but the way the nurse so gently picked up Lily was very reassuring.

Poor Lily! I’m glad she’s getting the best care from people who know how to treat a special little girl.

Hang in there, John, and don’t panic or despair unless you’re told there’s a reason to. You might be just an hour or two away from an effective treatment plan, and Lily could be well on her way back to being her old self very soon.

The current generation of veterinary specialist hospitals are amazing. We’ve used the one in Nashville and been very happy with the way they treated our patient. So glad you could take Lily to these folks. If she has to stay, can you leave her something that smells like home? Anything you are wearing would probably work, although you might not get it back.

Wow, that does look like a posh place, and it is reassuring that the nurse treated sweet Lily with the love and care she deserves. Lily has that going for her, plus the hopes and positive thoughts of many crabby people on the internet. And you, of course.

My wife gently teases me but it’s true: our dog is the son I’ll never have. And he adores me. Looks to me for everything. I come unglued when he gets diarrhea or an eye infection.

As it turns out, it’s perfectly OK for agnostics and atheists to pray and I have been praying for Lily and for you, John, because I have a pretty good idea of what’s going on in your head and I figure you both could use the help.

Get better, Lily. Your dad needs you.

I did a bit of research into the condition and underlying mechanism, with good news to report.

Transfusion should make an immediate impact on Lily for the better.

Immunosuppressive drugs (prednisone) are typically a very effective treatment regimen against Thrombocytopenia, especially in older doggies.

Pet care is stressful for so many reasons, they trust us and we want the best from them but we only know so much about what is going on because generally they are good at hiding things while most humans I meet seem to be hypochondriacs.

I hope Lily is as good as new when you get her back John!
