LOL. I’m cranking the Paula Abdul right now. She rocked the late 80’s.

Republicans cave on the debt limit and nary a peep. Republican capitulation passed away quietly in the Blogistan night. So long Trillion Dollar Coin,we hardly knew ya…
But, hey, what is that on the horizon? Much wailing and gnashing of teeth as it appears that the Might Harry is about to strike out.

After Nusrat, how about Simon Shaheen on the oud?

You know Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has a nephew Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan who trained under his uncle and is a pretty good singer as well. He’s much more commercial than the uncle but still very good.
I just watched Frontline. I shouldn’t have watched it. It just makes me angry. These people will never face justice and they’ve caused an unbelievable amount of pain. I know six people personally who lost their houses who are starting all over again. Lloyd Blankfein, meanwhile, probably paid cash for his multiple homes and will never have to worry about his credit rating or having the money to buy a house or a car or anything.

Catching second half of rebroadcast of Frontline on DOJ’s timidity in pursuing banksters.
Hope it finds its audience, and major prosecutions ensue. (Wondering, though, about statute of limitations.)
Would like to see the government prevail in as many criminal cases as they can mount.

I just completed a complete play of all 9732 songs on my iPod, on shuffle. It was wonderful.
Last song was Mathew Sweet, “I’ve been waiting”

Blinky Williams singing the Good Times theme song. Did she sing–Hangin and a jivin or did she sing Hanging in a chow line? Either way she kicks ass and obviously cannot be controlled by the producer.

Man, haven’t listened to Bella Fleck since the Flecktones. They put on one hell of a show live, too – one of my top 5 concerts of all time.
I should really dig out those old CDs.

If you are looking to sleep, you could try Simply Noise. Betty Cracker linked to them the other day. I like their rain generator here: http://rain.simplynoise.com/ or remove “rain” from the link to go to the main site.

Did you lose the Lilly Water CD or something? Bummer!!
Try Bela’s work with Abigail Washburn, called the Sparrow Quartet. Great stuff.
Then Ben Sollee’s album, learning to bend.
Then venture in to the Punch Brothers if you dare!!
All great music.

I like this one a lot, O re Piya
Urdu is truly the language of love.

@Elizabelle: I think the problem is, much of what the banksters did was perfectly legal.

A lot of the Water Lily titles are available as high-resolution downloads from HDTracks.com. They sound ridiculously good.

@schrodinger’s cat: No, that’s simply not true. Securities fraud is hard to prove, but in almost any transaction if you have an intent to deceive you can make a case.
The proof is actually quite easy to find – people making contrary bets, people hiding data that buyers should have had.
And the MERS thing if flat fucking incredible. Every single goddamn mortgage transferred via MERS is invalid. That’s the law.

Try Tabula Rasa by Arvo Paart. You’ll never be the same.
