    Two more good omens – the kid’s vote at schools went heavy for Obama and the RedSkins lost big time even against a second string QB … go vote!

    Looking at that poll line, I guess McCain’s pollsters were right when they said one candidate was surging the last week of the campaign. We all just assumed they were referring to McCain, not Obama.

    Here in Richmond "Battleground State" Virginia – it’s raining, and the lines at my polling place are around the block already.

    I’m going back at 10:30, after the morning before-work rush to check them out again.

    Just got back from voting in central NJ. Stood in the LONGEST LINE I have ever seen. There were easily close to 100 people when the doors opened! Luckily we don’t live in a banana republic, and they added 2 more booths to bring the total to 4.

    I’m going to be a basket case today. AAAAGH.

    More good news for McCain!

    The workers claim they were told to say they were GOP volunteers even though they were getting paid $10 an hour. They were required to sign agreements stating they would not publicly discuss their work but said they decided to speak out because they were angry they had not been paid for the last few days. They claim they are owed between $200 and $300.

    I got reports from a co-worker that the line was over 100 folks before the polls opened at his precinct in the DC area.
    I’m voting in Chicago early, then driving to SW MI to GOTV for Obama.
    It’s not won yet, get everyone you know out to vote!

    I’m working in rural Indiana. In Johnson County (south of Indianapolis), there have been 4-hour waits all last week. The polls were open Mon-Sat, lines around the courthouse square twice – could have used those Disney line dividers. No one leaves the line when they join, I’m told. In the past, there have not been the long lines and Election Day is pretty boring, they say. Today there will be more polling places open. I don’t know who these people are voting for, it’s a rather very white rural area, but the interest in this election is high in this part of Indiana.

    I wanted to take the day off today, because I figure all I will be doing is pressing “refresh” on a dozen or more sites.

    I don’t get to decide whether or not to take the day off, with a temperature of 101 I ain’t going anywhere except to the doc if it gets worse. F’ing sux! Went to bed well Sunday night and woke up sick as a dog Monday morning. Upper chest burning with a nasty cough, chills, fever and plugged sinuses.

    We (wife, daughter and I) voted Saturday and dropped the ballots off Sunday morning, straight Democratic ticket for this Oregon independent and his family, along with a big NO to Sizemore and his ballot shitlist of measures.

    Interesting that they were pulling that crap in Waukesha. It’s a pretty red city/county immediately to the west of Milwaukee. In fact, it’s home of the execrable Jim Sensenbrenner. Maybe the WI GOP is a tad worried about the direction of even the (heretofore) reliably red parts of the state. Good.

    I know the Zogby polls can me erratic, but holy cow on that result. Can you imagine what the one day result was that was blended into the tracking poll to give it? If it at all represents what is going on out there it is going to be bloody for McCain.

    Friday night’s result (the during-trick-or-treating result) was McCain +1 according to Drudge, and I think that result is rotated out today. Hence, the jump towards Obama.

    My lawyer friends are all (seriously) out today monitoring the polls and stuff for election shenanigans. Several of them are also volunteered for handling legal challenges during counting. Some of these people I expected to do this (i.e. they are liberal), but the fact that their law firms are actually giving them pro bono time (that doesn’t count against their partner bonuses) to do this says something pretty big.
