Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Republicans firmly believe having an abortion is a very personal, very private decision between a woman and J.D. Vance.

You would normally have to try pretty hard to self-incriminate this badly.

Putting aside our relentless self-interest because the moral imperative is crystal clear.

If America since Jan 2025 hasn’t broken your heart, you haven’t loved her enough.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

Bark louder, little dog.

Rupert, come get your orange boy, you petrified old dinosaur turd.

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Everything.

The willow is too close to the house.

You passed on an opportunity to be offended? What are you even doing here?

Fuck these fucking interesting times.

“But what about the lurkers?”

Jack Smith: “Why did you start campaigning in the middle of my investigation?!”

When we show up, we win.

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

Bad people in a position to do bad things will do bad things because they are bad people. End of story.

Petty moves from a petty man.

The press swings at every pitch, we don’t have to.

One of our two political parties is a cult whose leader admires Vladimir Putin.

Republicans: The threats are dire, but my tickets are non-refundable!

Reality always lies in wait for … Democrats.

A tremendous foreign policy asset… to all of our adversaries.

The world has changed, and neither one recognizes it.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

Leave the Man Alone

This is just stupid beyond words:

Whether it is a breakfast of cereal at his 3STH (Third Street town house) near the Capitol, his clothing for the day or the sports telecast he watches before pronouncing himself ready for sleep at his MLTH (Miami Lakes town house), Mr. Graham jots it down. And he has done so religiously since his first race for governor, in 1977, when he wanted to make sure he got the name of every possible supporter of his underdog campaign.

Now, as he seeks the nation’s highest office, the questions must be posed: Are American voters ready for a president who could all but moonlight as a stenographer? Is his habit a disqualifying eccentricity?

They have actually bullied Graham so much that he has had to release parts of his PRIVATE diary so they don’t think he is a nutcase. His private diary. Idiots.

And since when has the 4th estate &/or the electorate ever been proven to have any brains…you expected better, eh?

Sheesh…. I guess Graham is too centrist for the NYT. Or maybe just too much of a hawk.

Has the NYT picked their favorite yet? Is that why they’re slamming Graham, one of the few (two, imo, maybe three) who stands a fraction of a chance against Bush without a major calamity helping them along?

My take has always been this… Graham should put those notes on the web. Heck, he’s been “primative” blogging years before Howard Dean has touched a keyboard….
