Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

When do we start airlifting the women and children out of Texas?

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

Everybody saw this coming.

All hail the time of the bunny!

Anyone who bans teaching American history has no right to shape America’s future.

Republican also-rans: four mules fighting over a turnip.

Republicans firmly believe having an abortion is a very personal, very private decision between a woman and J.D. Vance.

Let the trolls come, and then ignore them. that’s the worst thing you can do to a troll.

“Facilitate” is an active verb, not a weasel word.

Giving in to doom is how authoritarians win.

Beware of advice from anyone for whom Democrats are “they” and not “we.”

Wake up. Grow up. Get in the fight.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

No one could have predicted…

Our job is not to persuade republicans but to defeat them.

A tremendous foreign policy asset… to all of our adversaries.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires Republicans to act in good faith.

I have other things to bitch about but those will have to wait.

I did not have this on my fuck 2025 bingo card.

Teach a man to fish, and he’ll sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

Is trump is trying to break black America over his knee? signs point to ‘yes’.

This fight is for everything.

Trumpflation is an intolerable hardship for every American, and it’s Trump’s fault.

Fear and negativity are contagious, but so is courage!

Even the liberal Washington Post

Remember John Solomon’s brief, fiery ride at the Post?

In one email to a Department of Justice spokesperson, Solomon even appears to be suggesting what spin to apply in order to minimize damage from the revelations.

“Thanks for any help you can give on this,” Solomon wrote to Brian Roehrkasse on the morning of March 2, 2007. “I think some tick tock along these lines will bring some perspective to how the process occurred. Of course, the White House counsel’s office had to sign off. Of course an administration in its last two years looks for some fresh blood to inject into jobs. Of course, DOJ’s analysis of prosecutors goes beyond performance evaluations to achievements or failures on policy issues like immigration. I think we can get this just right with your help.”

Update. I just contacted the ombudsman, Andy Alexander, and he says that he will review the exchanges and then decide whether to address the matter.

Just another example of Post’s liberal bias.

In the end right-leaning centrist wankers will just ignore this report and continue to point to the Washington Post whenever they need to show that even the ‘liberal media’ hates the direction Obama’s taking us.

The conservative response: there’s nothing wrong with a reporter actively conspiring with government officials to aid Republicans in a highly-partisan political dispute, and the fact that the ombudsman is going to look at the situation is clear evidence of liberal bias at the Post.

What comes first – being a pasty doughboy, or being a right wing hack?

Of course, a reporter must engage with the White House. Of course, a reporter is looking for right-wing perspectives to inject into stories. Of course, the WaPo’s analysis of the story goes beyond factual issues to suggestions on narrative framing.

I have said it before on this site and I will say it again. There are 3 reporters in the MSM who cover politics that have clearly reveled themselves over the years to right wing partisans, John Solomon, Ron Fournier (now with AP) and Mike Allen (now with Politico). They are profoundly dishonest people.

OT my local NPR station is about to start a 1 hour show that will have 3 local Democratic Congresspeople on to take questions. This will be interesting to see if this becomes a wacko right call in wankfest.

Uh, wow. The Post is my hometown paper, and I am not happy about this. I suppose the good news is that Solomon didn’t just let Rove write the article– professional ethics and all that, yadda yadda.

    @MattF:

The Post is my hometown paper, and I am not happy about this.

Make sure you write the Post a letter expressing your unhappiness over this then. They may take you more seriously than us rubes in Ohio who read their paper over the inertrons.

I honestly think it’s a heck of a lot more than three. It might be easier to track down three reporters who aren’t right wing partisans.

Good luck with that ombudsman. The week after the whole “Mouthpiece Theater” flap, his clolumn was all about obituaries. It took another week before he got around to addressing it. (For those who would give him an out by saying that the column was already submitted before the controversy hit, well he could have re-written the column. He also could have mentioned it on his blog, which he did not do.)

    @Punchy:

Who is “Obbs”? If you mean Lou Dobbs he is a commentator (in my book), not a journalist. In any event I was talking print.

A PS on the radio show I mentioned in my post. First 3 people were birthers/teabaggers.

Whether? Really? That’s the word he used? Interesting choice, methinks.

As for Solomon, the only thing that surprises me is that he committed those thoughts to an email rather than just deliver them orally, if you know what I mean.

Do you have some kind of definitive inside information that we don’t have? What makes you think Rove didn’t just write the final article?

thank dog that the journalistic tounge bathing of liberal politicians that we have been seeing from the WoPo since the ascension of St Ronnie continues unabated. (speaking of ‘oral delivery’)
Solomon got caught. The rest will lay low for a while – but they’ll be back.

@Comrade Darkness: He has reported news that was bad for the Republicans before. That’s really all it takes.

Reporting “The DOW dropped 200 points” while a Republican is in the White House makes you a fifth columnist commie liberal traitor in the eyes of the right wing media.

“I just contacted the ombudsman, Andy Alexander, and he says that he will review the exchanges and then decide whether to address the matter.”

Well, the odds are strongly in favor of any newspaper ombudsman being a presstitute, and when he says that he will decide *whether* to address the matter, there’s no doubt left. Except, of course, whether he chooses the route of omerta or or blathering us with prime BS.

I don’t have a problem with reporters either being liberal or conservative, but I do have a problem when they’re not deeply and automatically suspicious of those in power.

I don’t have a problem with reporters either being liberal or conservative, but I do have a problem when they’re not deeply and automatically suspicious of those in power.

That according to conservatives will be a liberal point of view(when they are in power): If you ever question a conservative, you are a liberal.
