TaMara here, guest posting for Alain. Happy first day of fall!

Two years ago I checked off an item on my wish list: Paris. I think afterward I posted a few photos here, but there are soooo many more and when Alain was finding time and computer constraints making his wonderful On The Road posts difficult, I volunteered to post a few photos.

Since I felt like most of the iconic images had been endlessly photographed, I tried to look for the unusual to snap.

Paris in November is just about perfect….

We stepped off the Metro on November 11, just as the church bells began to toll to acknowledge Armistice day, and stepped into Père Lachaise Cemetery. It wasn’t planned, it was just serendipity.

My hotel room had this view and I stayed awake much too long each night, just watching the light show.

The weather and fall colors were beautiful. The one day of rain we had, we spent at the Louvre and the rain only made it all more magical.

And some photos as I strolled the city:

It took us forever to realize this oddity was on a boat floating down the Seine. It was a shiny solid gold color.

Some fun in B&W:

And finally, this absolutely charming tableau that felt so totally like a scene in a movie. I had to use my phone, so the quality isn’t great, but the subject was too sweet to care:

And since I seem to have volunteered for tomorrow as well, I think I’ll share some of my Boston photos. See you then – TaMara

    Kitten update:

Their room was left imperfectly latched after my husband went in to feed them this morning. It took them about an hour to realize this and pull the door open. They immediately headed downstairs to the kitchen, where they were greeted with surprise, some tension, but only mild hostility from the Vorwiggles twins. They made no attempt to taunt, or even approach, Happy Fun Ball.

They were locked in the master bedroom while I did some maintenance with the assistance of the Vorwiggles, for whom this was their first opportunity to intently explore every inch of the kitten room. Max approves of the cat condo.

Nice pics. I once spent Xmas day in a Mallorcan graveyard. For some reason or other nobody else wanted to join me.

Perfect locale for enjoying music with the volume dialed up.

    The people downstairs never complain.

I see the Jardin de Luxembourg (the path with the long rows of trees). I just discovered that this summer and I think that neighborhood might be my new favorite part of Paris.

I love all the photos, TaMara, and particularly the ones with the long view of a path ahead. I also find the cobblestone closeup to be quite compelling. You are quite the photographer!

@Ceci n est pas mon nym: I went to Paris for the very first time in August. My hotel was across the street from the Pantheon, which is just up the street from the Luxembourg gardens. Although I ventured out to other arrondissements, I spent most of my time exploring the Latin Quarter. It was heaven. It was my favorite part of Paris.
