I HATE tapioca, grew up in a family who totally rooted for the Chiefs, and I firmly believe that 60 Minutes lost relevancy many years ago. As a lurker, I guess this is for the likes of me… Btw, I love the jackals – you all make me feel like I’m not nearly as alone up here in the hinterlands of ME. Thanks a ton!
Tapioca can be awesome in Sabudana vada and sabudana khichdi.I have never watched 60 minutes in my life. Not watching Superbowl either.

Along the way, House managers stripped the bark off phony Republican hawks who could find nothing wrong with extorting an ally in a hot war with Russia https://t.co/ghnQH2ppdi— Jennifer Rubin (@JRubinBlogger) February 2, 2020
I’ve been watching “Air Disasters”. I watch 60 minutes if it’s going to be interesting or relevant, so not in a while. Tapioca is good if you make the whipped egg white type, but it has no chocolate, so I don’t waste my calories on it unless there is absolutely nothing else for dessert. I’ve never watched a whole super Bowl in my life and the parts I’ve watched were viewed by accident.
I could take or leave tapioca, much prefer rice pudding.
John, I know you said no medical advice but I hope you pursue additional ENT opinions on your sinuses.
Sometimes you have to make a fuss to get doctors to sit up and pay attention.
I told two doctors, an internist and my oncologist, that I was sure I had rheumatoid arthritis. They shrugged me off but the onc nurse gave me a referral to a rheumatologist anyway.
The rheumatologist also wasn’t particularly impressed, though she ordered blood tests, whether to humor me or run up the bill, I don’t know.
Was she embarrassed or apologetic when the tests proved me right? Of course not, she’s a doctor. She’s taken good care of me since, so I’ve given her a pass (for now, one more screw-up and I’m outta there).
The moral of this story (and I have additional similar ones) is Be a Squeaky Wheel with Doctors.

I liked tapioca “pudding” as a kid; haven’t had it or even been offered it since.
Back when I could ski, the Superb Owl Sunday was often the best skiing day of the year: empty slopes on an early Feb weekend, ski right into the lift chair.
I watched Bombshell, The Hedy Lamar Storyon Netflix, and if you haven’t seen it I recommend it. Though it’s a sad reminder of what potential talent is wasted by misogyny

Damnit. The ad was for the Trump commemorative coin.
I recorded the Shakira and J Lo concert – it was amazing! Had to fast forward through a bunch of guys violently knocking each other about the head to induce brain damage but finally I got to the music.
Shakira has talent off the charts – she played the guitars, the drums, featured rock, pop, cumbia, champeta (Colombian music with Nigerian, Congolese and South African influences), and my 2nd favorite Cameroonian song, Zangalewa, which she previously covered for the 2010 World Cup. She also knows how to dance. J Lo was good as well – I loved that she had on a Puerto Rican flag cape as she covered “Born in the USA.” Laughed out loud at that one because I know some in that stadium have no clue that Puerto Rico is part of the US (I know J Lo was born in the Bronx).

I don’t even know who’s playing the Super Bowl this year. I had forgotten about it until a colleague mentioned it on Friday.
Regarding 60 Minutes relevance, I think the George W. National Guard story was probably the last time it was relevant, and I don’t think it has recovered from that debacle.

@Ohio Mom: a friend once asked me if I liked rice pudding with or without raisins. I hate rice pudding so wether with or without raisins is a moot point. Also, Raisinettes, who came up with that monumentally bad idea and waste of perfectly good chocolate?
I’m watching the Six Nations Rugby championship. Italy V Wales in pool play. Once this is over I’m watching Ireland V Scotland. I’ll watch the England V France game tomorrow.
And I like both tapioca and rice pudding.

Tapioca is highly useful for thickening fruit fillings for pies & galettes. Tapioca pudding is for children and also for crushing large pills in.
60Mins drives me nuts or bores me or is exciting or repetitive at random, and if they’d ever sort out their schedule properly during f-ball season it would be most helpful. But still I am old school and loyal to the memory of Don Hewitt & so I watch.
There is a musical, almost lyrical quality to her speech and cadence that sucks you in and you haven’t even gotten to the food yet.
I also love the fact that at one point in earlier episodes the YouTube plaques/awards she earned were hanging on the wall behind her.

Brazilian tapioca is something altogether different. Divine. With a cup of hot coffee. Like the American kind too. In small cups, really cold. Can football be over now?
Yep. Every patient has to be or have an advocate. Being docile doesn’t cut it. I tell docs that the internet doc at my house studies up on what’s going on. Me. Doesn’t make me a doc in any way but it does often give me questions to ask and at least some understanding of what they tell me.
Mom used to make it once in a while and I’m the only one that hated it. At least I had a passion as a kid, hating tapioca.

I was all good up until the tapioca part. It has the texture of swallowing snot. It has no pleasant flavor without vanilla or something else. There’s a reason you never see it on a dessert menu.
