Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Yeah, with this crowd one never knows.

The gop is a fucking disgrace.

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

Hey Washington Post, “Democracy Dies in Darkness” was supposed to be a warning, not a mission statement.

Prediction: the gop will rethink its strategy of boycotting future committees.

Damn right I heard that as a threat.

Bark louder, little dog.

They love authoritarianism, but only when they get to be the authoritarians.

I’m more christian than these people and i’m an atheist.

Let’s bury these fuckers at the polls 2 years from now.

Everybody saw this coming.

In my day, never was longer.

If rights aren’t universal, they are privilege, not rights.

Usually wrong but never in doubt

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

He really is that stupid.

Beware of advice from anyone for whom Democrats are “they” and not “we.”

This is dead girl, live boy, a goat, two wetsuits and a dildo territory.  oh, and pink furry handcuffs.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

I’d hate to be the candidate who lost to this guy.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

“The defense has a certain level of trust in defendant that the government does not.”

“woke” is the new caravan.

From Russ Vaughn, who needs a blog:

An Open Letter to Senator John McCain from a Vietnam Veteran

Senator McCain,

I begin this missive with an embrazo, as we call it here in Texas, for your service to our country, as a warrior, as a prisoner of war and as a United States Senator. You have served far better and endured far more in the service of America than most men will ever do. For that, this old sergeant salutes you.

That said, as a Vietnam ground combat veteran, I must take issue with you on the situation of John Kerry and the Swift Boat Veterans. You have labeled these men

McCain remains a victim of his long ordeal at the hands of the Vietnamese. Clearly his thinking and ability to absorb what is obvious to even the most ill informed among the public calls his judgement into question. For a man who fathered the campaign reforms we now see the fruits of his comments regarding the Swiftboat veterans only reinforce his image of a man who needs a long rest aboard one of Kerry’s luxury liners.

I have never liked John McCain or his politics. He much like his friend John Kerry seems to be nothing more than a rank opportunist and somewhat of a dullard. And after his bizarre love affair with his and Russ Feingold’s stupid, first-admendment crushing, campaign finance reform legislation I believe him to be a completely irredeemable pinhead. No wonder journalist and Hollywood celebrities like him so much, he’s one of their own.

… then let McCain sweep John F. Kerry with it.

Suggested title for Bill & Hillary’s next literary endeavor:

    “It Takes A Broom”
