Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The line between political reporting and fan fiction continues to blur.

Just got my Star Wars Trilogy from Amazon, and I have to say I am impressed.

The colors have been touched and the sound is just amazing. Definitely worth the wait, and Amazon has it at 40% off. Bonus.

Me being the super extreme Star Wars fan that I am, I still have not picked up the trilogy. I hoped to get it on Tuesday, but should have it by next week so I can ooze in the puddle of love.

Thing is, who knows what’s gonna be changed in the next release of the trilogy. Boba Fett’s new voice is what irked my other big time Star Wars friend, as it is now Temuera Morrison’s whom played Jango Fett in Episode II, who also has a role again in Episode III.

I’m just not sure I can bring myself to pay money for Lucas’ unholy revision. Han is supposed to shoot first. Period. End of story.

Mine arrived tonight, too — along with the 2-disc director’s cut of THX-1138.

I hope everyone at CBS resigns and Kerry concedes the election so that I can get on with my life and watch these things.

Well Han should still shoot first…you are right Gregory, it will forever be the worst change in cinematic history. It’s like they wanted Han to appeal more to the kids as more ‘peaceful’. That change, messed with the early character appeal of Han.

I don’t know how many of you are computer gamers, but the Star Wars Battlfront game (that was released on the same day as the DVD’s) is awesome. The graphics are incredible and the gameplay is great.

I hear tell Han and Greedo now shoot at the same time, a much less objectionable circumstance. Can you confirm this?

No…they are just closer together for the DVD release. Han still shoots first if you look at the scene close enough. In the 1997 Special Edition, they screwed it up big time and had the scene totally opposite from the original. This following link has a list of changes form the 1997 Special Edition – 2004 DVD Edition thedigitalbits.com/reviews3/starwarschanges.html

How much philosophy there is to be gained from the films is your choice, they will still always remain gems, a peak in the art of film.

This is great… I’ve waited for years. I love most of the enhancements, especially Ian McDiarmid palying the Emperor in Episode V. Now we have consistency.

I hate the young Hayden Christiansen as the ghost of Anaking at the end of Jedi. I guess you can’t have it all.

I was Star Wars nurd for years and years. But then, after the prequels came out I re-examined the Star Wars originals and decided they were never very good to begin with.

Still trying to figure out why on earth anyone would buy any DVD in the full screen version.

    Beyond my comprehension…..but I digress. ;-)

Ok as of yesterday, the Star Wars Trilogy is now in my hands….can anything be greater than the aura of these movies?

Best films of all time……one cannot count the shivers of joy one feels when viewing the greatness that is Star Wars.

Russell you must re-kindle the love, buy this set and have a candlelight dinner with it after taking it out for a night on the town, then pop A New Hope into your DVD player and let the orgasms commence.

I thought when the DVD format came out it was the death knell for full-screen crap. Well guess not. The only people who ever really petitioned in the full-screen/wide-screen fiasco were the wide-screen lovers who got Blockbuster to level up their wide-screen selection which is a big deal nationwide. Fullscreen is a rip of any artists original intentions, unless it was shot that way to begin with.

Just got my Star Wars Battlefront also, can’t wait to play it :)
