Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

In my day, never was longer.

The “burn-it-down” people are good with that until they become part of the kindling.

Just because you believe it, that does not make it true.

This country desperately needs a functioning fourth estate.

Republicans are the party of chaos and catastrophe.

Every one of the “Roberts Six” lied to get on the court.

Good lord, these people are nuts.

“The defense has a certain level of trust in defendant that the government does not.”

No one could have predicted…

There are some who say that there are too many strawmen arguments on this blog.

Hey hey, RFK, how many kids did you kill today?

Bark louder, little dog.

Beware of advice from anyone for whom Democrats are “they” and not “we.”

Whoever he was, that guy was nuts.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

If you tweet it in all caps, that makes it true!

You know it’s bad when the Project 2025 people have to create training videos on “How To Be Normal”.

Fucking consultants! (of the political variety)

So it was an October Surprise A Day, like an Advent calendar but for crime.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

Fight for a just cause, love your fellow man, live a good life.

When you’re in more danger from the IDF than from Russian shelling, that’s really bad.

Hugh Hewitt has up a blog poll (although wholly unscientific) on the Alito nomination.

Go play.

Well, according to all other polls on the matter, Hugh’s poll has been Freeped.

If he supports the constitution the liberals will oppse him just like they always do

Yeah – I’d say it’s been Freeped – or Hewitted. His fans tend to be skewed in the same direction as the Freepers. So go give them another opinion. (I did – for what it was worth.)

You got mentioned on Hugh’s show – not unfavorably, but…

actually a mild chastizing for how few of your readers took part. If one could judge from the comment strands and that 71 out of 93 BJ respondents dont approve of the Alito nomination, it would seem that your readership is predominately of the myopic left.

To bad too… you used to have interesting debates. Lately, any honest discourse is drowned out by invective.

…and for what it’s worth, I’m one of those undecided.
