PPGAZ- It is actually pretty good tv. Plus it is in widescreen and dolby 5.1.

Ah! I have not yet joined the ranks of high-tech tv.
Spent all my money on a fast car. Missus says that’s it. No more big spending for a while for me.

Have a favorite character yet or still too early? Most people seem to hate Jack and Kate, both of whom I really like. In fact the only character who gets on my nerves is Charlie.

My wife and I essentially don’t have TV (no cable, and rabbit ears that pick up 3 fuzzy stations). But we have a DVD player so, on a lark, we bought Lost.
Un-freaking-incredible. I can’t wait until Season 2 comes out. It only gets better, John from 7 on out. Just fantastic.
LOST is an freakin awesome show……and I only get to see it in snippets and I am hooked.

Oh, and don’t miss the documentary of how they made the pilot. Amazing. From idea to wrap, 3 months. They had to find, buy, cut up, ship to Hawai and dress a big-ass plane. Not to mention everything else they had to do (cast, script, etc.)
Second season’s not quite as good as the first, but it’s still good. (The first couple episodes were great.) It just seems a little slower than the first season.
13.
KoC
Pretty much what dorkafork said. 2nd season has been much different than the first, with a lot more actually going on. It took them a few episodes to resolved everything from the season 1 finale, and they’ve been slowly moving everything towards an all-out “survivors” VS “others” war.
14.
Sojourner
Sounds like the second season will be worth watching. That’s good news. In the mean time, I will continue to enjoy the ride provided by the first season.
Thanks, folks.

Unfortunately tonight’s episode is a repeat… but at least I get a chance to check out Veronica Mars like everyone’s been talking about.
On a related note: who knew Steve Guttenburg was still getting work? There truly is hope for us all- the downtrodden, the dispossessed, those who have given up all hope- if Steve Guttenburg can still land a gig.

The second season is also great, but its just not as much fun as watching them on DVD, where you don’t have a week or longer between epsisodes.
One of the difficult parts of the show is that the story is so big and involves so many characters, that it takes a really long time to unfold. In the second season, the scope of the show becomes far bigger than the first season, so the plot development slows down even more. Also the flashbacks are not as surprising or revealing. It is still amazing though. I just got into the show when it came out on DVD. I have never seen an episode before that. The first season was truly genius. Amazing writing in every episode. John, if you think you are hooked now, just wait till you get to Hurley’s flashback episode. You’ll end up calling in sick to work, so that you can try and finish watching the whole season in one sitting. Good luck. And Kate is Super Hot.
It’s addictive all right. I had not watched TV in years, and a friend told me about Lost. I decided to download the pilot one Saturday morning, and by Sunday evening I had watched the entire first season. It brought back fond memories of being a couch potato when I was a teenager.
Not too fond though. I have no intention of watching the second season, and I’m back to living under my rock which shields me from all knowledge of pop culture. It’s the only way to live.

Yeah – that one and the one with the Locke focus (“Walkabout” maybe?) just blew me away. After that it was all over but the cryin’. What most impressed me about the DVD extras was how organic the show is – so many characters created to fit the actors casting for parts (or not killing Jack’s character as written at the last minute). Its very Zen like and intuative while following some pre-written structures. Hope they hang with it and don’t bail on us in the fourth or fifth season. I still have nightmares about “Twin Peaks”.

Fave character – Locke.
Hottest – Sayid. Rowrrr! Loved him in English Patient, rest of movie sucked.
2nd hottest -Sawyer
3rd hottest – Jin-Soo.
What were we talking about again?
Project Runway is the best snark-fest on TV. I didn’t catch the first season, but I am liking the second season quite a bit. There was a nervous breakdown in the first episode. What’s not to like?

Krista
Stormy, I’m so with you on the Sayid love-fest. That man is just beautiful.

I suggest sticking with watching it on DVD. If you get hooked enough to try and keep up with the broadcast you’ll just end up throwing things when they end up showing a repeat. Which reminds me, I need to get a new table lamp…

Trevor: no new episodes for 5-6 weeks. Just so’s you know.

Open question: I’ve visited several websites where there are numerous examples of changes in the sets of the show (sometimes within the same episode) – do you think these are prop mistakes from the set crew or are they significant to the story? And what about the numerous websites (like http://www.bigspaceship1.com and others) which could be either fansites or part of the “Lost” media produced by the creators as part of the fun? There are literally dozens of these sites and they can be very very freaky and yet contain odd clues and messages which reveal more of the island. There are “official” sites (like http://www.thehansofoundation.org) but could these others be another layer created by the “Lost” team to expand the content of the show?
The recaps are incredibly hilarious for the most part. They’ve also got forums where people discuss the show, muse about the future, and have a big topic going about different Lost stuff all over the internet, like the hanso site

I usually go to the ABC Lost fan site and than follow the links to other as needed, but do not go to any of the sites unless you are up to speed on all the shows. You wouldn’t want to miss-out on all the surprises.
There is some great stuff out there (on the fan sites). The amount of time some people spend dissecting every show is off the wall. I have learned a lot.

I go to Television without Pity after most shows I watch. I was really glad to see Grey’s Anatomy added this year, since it is one of my faves.
Thanks MrSnub. I’ll pick up six lamps.
Actually, I’d like to pull a 180 on my recommendation. John, you should get up to speed, just so I won’t have to worry about posting any spoilers.

Cool! Which episode are you up to?

Once you finish the whole first season, then you can watch Lost Rhapsody.

Hmm. I have never seen the show.
I am put off by the premise. It requires a suspension of disbelief that I can’t muster.
But a lot of people seem to really like it.

Hear, hear. Great stuff and, yes, it only gets better.

At last John and I agree on something. Like him, I’ve just started watching the first season DVD and it’s fabulous.
Any second season watchers out there? Is the second season as good as the first?
