Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Make the republican party small enough to drown in a bathtub.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

So many bastards, so little time.

Some judge needs to shut this circus down soon.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

You come for women, you’re gonna get your ass kicked.

Putin must be throwing ketchup at the walls.

Those who are easily outraged are easily manipulated.

JFC, are there no editors left at that goddamn rag?

People are complicated. Love is not.

Their boy Ron is an empty plastic cup that will never know pudding.

There are a lot more evil idiots than evil geniuses.

Petty moves from a petty man.

Reality always gets a vote in the end.

Of course you can have champagne before noon. That’s why orange juice was invented.

You are so fucked. Still, I wish you the best of luck.

A democracy can’t function when people can’t distinguish facts from lies.

Prediction: the gop will rethink its strategy of boycotting future committees.

No Kings: Americans standing in the way of bad history saying “Oh, Fuck No!”

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

Bark louder, little dog.

All hail the time of the bunny!

Fucking consultants! (of the political variety)

Every decision we make has lots of baggage with it, known or unknown.

It’s rare that one can find a blog with an unpredictable viewpoint on politics. John’s site is that unpredictable (a very good thing), unlike, say LGF, which has a reliable position on things political. Unfortunately, most sites fall into the predictable category, and are becoming, for me, increasingly boring as reading material and a forum for discussion. The commenters tend to take knee-jerk right-or-left stances and never cede ground, allowing their viewpoints to devolve into grade school, juvenile epithets. This tends to be most common, though, on Leftist sites, where the behavior seems to be encouraged (i.e. Kos/C&L/MyDD/DU,etc.). It’s hardly a shining example of democracy and discourse, so I can’t blame the guy for throwing in the towel.

It’s sad, but his career was never the same after he left NYPD blue.

This is because it’s good politics. Look at the way the President responds to critics. He dismisses them and calls them names. This shows his “moral clarity” because he never backs down.

The same is true of bloggers, radio hosts, everybody. Well for a short time period, then they jump into a fabricated complaint about BitchPhd and totally ridicule themselves. But that’s another story…

This tends to be most common, though, on Leftist sites,

LOL! Ok. I thought you were being serious.

Now I realize it was just another excuse for a rightwing hack attack.
