More website related drama- I had a bill to pay for the re-registration of the domain name here, and I seem to have lost the bill. How do I find out what company I contact to make payment.
I had the damned bill by my desk for two weeks, and somehow have managed to lose it. Go figure.

Thanks. It was a scam.

Looks like it’s itsyourdomain.com.
Jay
It looks like you registered the domain with itsyourdomain.com

I did a whois lookup on your domain, and the registration provider is listed as ItsYourDomain.com –that’s a good starting point.

Oh, and if it’s a bill that arrived in the mail, be very skeptical (well, be skeptical of e-mail bills too). There are all sorts of slimeball companies that send fake renewal notices to get you to unknowingly transfer your registration.

Damn –third.

Ask Tunch, he probably ran off with the thing.

Better schedule a test, primitive though they still are, for Alzheimer’s….

Here’s a link to a WHOIS query for balloon-juice.com.
Just click on the link and then click Submit when the page opens if you want all of the gory details.
Ryan S.
In the future you can go to http://www.whois.com and in the search box put http://www.balloon-juice.com and when it tells you that domain is already taken click on the whois lookup graphic.
Ryan S.
Or you could follow Dennis’s link which is much easier.

Whois is a good tool for reporting phishers. I’ll usually go ahead and click through to the “bankofamerica.com” or “chase.com” faux link, get a whois on them, send them a colorful user/password, and when I report them to the true site, all that info gives them a head start, assuming they do much about that kind of thing.

Actually, your domain expired a couple of months ago and Darrell is just waiting for the right moment.

if all else fails, John, go here: http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp

As the above poster said, it is MOST LIKELY a scam, as they send bills in the mail like this.
Note – your domain doesn’t expire until January 2008-
Record created on January 17, 2003
Record last updated on July 18, 2005
Record expires on January 17, 2008
I’d double-check that bill – it may be legit, but be certain.

At least you didn’t fall for this scam:
