Shameless man prostitute for the DNC.
This really is quite revealing- appearances really are everything to the left. Clinton does nothing for 8 years, but ‘appears’ committed to the fight against terrorism. Bush refuses to play the press games, and therefore he is unconcerned about anything.
Kimmitt
It’s a press game to show up at work in the morning when riots are raging across Iraq?
John Cole
Kimmitt:
You are running under the false assumption that Bush does not work when on ‘vacation.’
I know you are not stupid, so I will just chalk this up to willful silliness on your part.
JKC
John-
All the photos from Crawfor show Bush leading nature walks, driving his pickup, or clearing brush. Give me a link to ONE that shows him working.
And even if he is working an hour or so a day, in a week in which 40+ American military personell have died, the least the Crawford Cowboy could do is show up at the damned office.
Slartibartfast
That’s a deeply silly point, JKC, and it assumes that the photo ops are not scheduled around leisure time. Or, perhaps, that leisure time is not scheduled to afford photo ops.
How many pictures of Clinton working do you recall? Reagan? GHWB? Damned few, and for good reason: they don’t make for interesting shots.
JKC
Beside the point, Slarti: had Clinton spent this much time on holiday, he’d have been lynched in the press with the full approval of the vast majority of conservatives.
Photographer scheduling aside, given the events of the past week, the man should SHOW UP FOR WORK!
Kimmitt
“You are running under the false assumption that Bush does not work when on ‘vacation.'”
I am running under the assumption that the White House is a better place to get things done than the ranch at Crawford and that the President should show respect to the men and women fighting and dying in Iraq by being physically in the White House.
Robin Roberts
Actually, all JKC and Kimmitt are doing are inventing silly shots that have no substance. The idea that not being in the White House is “disrespectful” to troops is among the sillier and stupider I’ve seen them post. And that’s saying something.
JKC
Whether it’s disrespectful to the troops or not is up to them. I find it personally disrespectful for Bush to be on vacation yet again at a time when his full attention should be on the job he was elected to do by his bosses- the citizens of the United States of America.
Of course these days it seems “personal responsibility” only applies to the masses; not George Bush and his cabinet of incompetent boobs.
JKC
Let me put it in terms even Robin can understand:
John Cole teaches communications. He COULD “lecture” his classes by way of a web camera while sitting in his underwear with a case of Silver Bullets by his side. By Bush League standards he’d be “doing his job.”
Fortunately for the rest of us (not to mention his students) John has higher standards than the current President.
conrad
Bush is doing a superb job, from any location.
Clinton was a washout, failing on all counts.
