Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

GOP baffled that ‘we don’t care if you die’ is not a winning slogan.

The unpunished coup was a training exercise.

How any woman could possibly vote for this smug smarmy piece of misogynistic crap is beyond understanding.

Not all heroes wear capes.

They love authoritarianism, but only when they get to be the authoritarians.

They don’t have outfits that big. nor codpieces that small.

Let there be snark.

If you don’t believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love isn’t freedom, it is privilege.

We will not go back.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

Balloon Juice, where there is always someone who will say you’re doing it wrong.

Books are my comfort food!

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

A democracy can’t function when people can’t distinguish facts from lies.

Sitting here in limbo waiting for the dice to roll

Let the trolls come, and then ignore them. that’s the worst thing you can do to a troll.

Anyone who bans teaching American history has no right to shape America’s future.

These are not very smart people, and things got out of hand.

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

Live so that if you miss a day of work people aren’t hoping you’re dead.

This is dead girl, live boy, a goat, two wetsuits and a dildo territory.  oh, and pink furry handcuffs.

So many bastards, so little time.

Let me file that under fuck it.

Tragedy

Tragedy in the Cole household this week- my beloved 1983 Chevy Celbrity finally died. I had planned on driving this car for another 5-10 years, but either the head gasket is destroyed or the head is cracked, and it just isn’t worth putting a new engine in the car. Another expense I did not want to deal with.

Joy.

Sorry to hear about your car, but think of your new purchase as helping the economy! And, since anything you get now (except a monster SUV) will pollute less and get better mileage, you are helping the environment.

Just helping you see the bright side….:)

And there’s this too, John: now you can go out and buy yourself a Ford!

Remember, real cars don’t wear bowties. ;)

A head gasket is not a big deal. Fix it!

Should I send flowers John, or just make a donation?

Fine! Blown gasket or cracking. And you are throwing away the car because…? If the body and other parts are rust-free and you never pranged it, put a rebuilt motor in it, touch up the other stuff, and continue to drive it. A neighbor of mine has a really nice Celebrity Sport station wagon with 388K on the clock, and she’s getting a rebuild on the motor next week.
