Gee, if the purpose of the invasion was to keep all those weapons out of the hands of a madman, bad man Saddam, then did the Administration think it was okay to let the weapons be looted and passed around among dissidents and sold throughout the Middle East?
What we do know is that Saddam’s weapons programs had been ended soon after the Gulf War. The UN inspectors knew where everything was. They visited the sites to make sure that nothing was missing or moved.
So when the US invades Iraq, does it make sure to protect those known sites? Does it protect the ammo dumps from looting?
No, it protects the oil ministry and the oilfields.
The purpose of the invasion of Iraq was to seize control of the oil and to project US power throughout the region (for the oil).
