Cooper writes about his Grand Jury testimony and one contradiction comes out. Cooper says welfare reform was never discussed during this call which was initiated by Cooper. Interesting. Rove’s lawyer said the call was about welfare refrom and that the Wilson/Plame matter was only brought up at the end almost as a second thought. Not the way Cooper remembers it.
This is also at odds with the ONE email that Rove’s side (presumeably) has released to the press. The one that Rove says he “didn’t take the bait”. Didn’t Rove supposedly say that phone conversation started out as a discussion about Welfare reform? Wasn’t that email sent contemperaneously? Interesting.
Oh, and one last point, Rove’s attorney said that Rove has nothing to worry about with Cooper’s “truthful” testimony. Why would he have to use the word “truthful”. Cooper doesn’t have a dog in this race, its absurd to think that he would not be truthful on something with so much scrutiny. Are they laying the groundwork to say Cooper has not been “truthful”.
I dont know what all this means but its starting to smell a little fishy to me.

Perhaps they were discussing reforming Plame’s welfare?
