Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

Today in our ongoing national embarrassment…

Welcome to day five of every-bit-as-bad-as-you-thought-it-would-be.

In my day, never was longer.

Fear and negativity are contagious, but so is courage!

… gradually, and then suddenly.

“Facilitate” is an active verb, not a weasel word.

Hi god, it’s us. Thanks a heap, you’re having a great week and it’s only Thursday!

Someone should tell Republicans that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, or possibly the first.

I did not have this on my fuck 2025 bingo card.

Pessimism assures that nothing of any importance will change.

The arc of the moral universe does not bend itself. it is up to us to bend it.

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

The only way through is to slog through the muck one step at at time.

If America since Jan 2025 hasn’t broken your heart, you haven’t loved her enough.

Books are my comfort food!

I might just take the rest of the day off and do even more nothing than usual.

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

A bug bit me on the lip while I slept and it is now painful and grotesquely swollen, so I am off to the doctor.

I will be back later, depending.

*** Update ***

Just some bit- Zyrtac for the swelling, which I can’t take until tomorrow since I already self-medicated with Benadryl. The Benadryl has given me a serious calse of the sssllloooooowwwwwwwssssssssss.

If that’s not enough to keep one from sleeping, I don’t know what is.

didn’t you know you’re not supposed to let the bedbugs bite?? that’s probably why you haven’t been sleeping….you don’t know how to do it properly.

J/K….hope it all turns out ok at the doc.

John…just pay that hooker what you owe her and she won’t bite. Unless biting IS what you paid her for.

Hopefully it’s not the assassin bug. That’s a painful bite. I was living in Central America for a while and a couple places down there had the ones that carry Chagas disease, but I don’t think it’s very common up here at all.

    more than just an expression.

    Hope the lip is better.

Eminem just went to the hospital to be treated for an addiction to sleep medication. John Cole went to the doctor for some mysterious “ailment”. John Cole has had trouble sleeping of late. The question is obvious: is John Cole really Eminem?

Ugh, good luck with the Benadryl. That stuff knocks me out like chloroform. At least this should mean the end of the insomnia.

Damn, but that sucks. Hopefully, the doc is doing tests for foreign biologicals. This happened to me once, and very painful it is.

And I agree with the insomnia being a bitch-and-three-quarters. Unfortunately, Benedryl doesn’t work too well on me. Nor do OTC sleep aids. (And no primary physician, or cash, to get scrip for Lunestra.)

    Ah, good old Zyrtec.

I take the stuff whenever my allergies flip out, and it works like a charm. It doesn’t knock me out too bad (unlike Comadryl), though it does give me a wicked case of cottonmouth.

John, hope you’re feeling better. I know about bug bites. Last year I was mowing grass in a corner of my property where I don’t usually mow and wound up getting stung on the legs by about 8 yellow jackets. It itched like crazy for a few days, but I survived …the first assault. A week later, in a different corner of the yard, another damn underground hive. Only four bites that time but I developed some kind of allergic reaction that made my calf swell up and the skin took on a texture akin to plastic. I wound up in the emergency room a couple of nights later where they mainlined some anti-biotics into me. The doctor said the infection probably would’ve spread to my entire leg if I had waited another day. Lovely.

Can we take a minute here and congratulate President George W. Bush and his shattering of Ronald Reagan’s vacation record today? Perhaps the greatest thing Bush ever did for America is getting out of Washington and sitting on his perfumed ass down in Texas.

I got stung by a bee today, and am fairly to highly allergic, brought out an anaphlax kit thats been in my glove compartment for five years (three years expired), through hot and cold. It seems to have worked, I’m not dead, just a swollen hand. Did the tourniquet deal on and off, though wouldn’t recommend that for your lip.
