Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Peak wingnut was a lie.

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

Nancy smash is sick of your bullshit.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

Shut up, hissy kitty!

Not rolling over. fuck you, make me.

Consistently wrong since 2002

“Until such time as the world ends, we will act as though it intends to spin on.”

So it was an October Surprise A Day, like an Advent calendar but for crime.

Stamping your little feets and demanding that they see how important you are? Not working anymore.

So fucking stupid, and still doing a tremendous amount of damage.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

SCOTUS: It’s not “bribery” unless it comes from the Bribery region of France. Otherwise, it’s merely “sparkling malfeasance”.

Nothing worth doing is easy.

Putting aside our relentless self-interest because the moral imperative is crystal clear.

Tick tock motherfuckers!

Hell hath no fury like a farmer bankrupted.

Quote tweet friends, screenshot enemies.

All hail the time of the bunny!

Too little, too late, ftfnyt. fuck all the way off.

Since we are repeating ourselves, let me just say fuck that.

We do not need to pander to people who do not like what we stand for.

We’re watching the self-immolation of the leading world power on a level unprecedented in human history.

Dear legacy media: you are not here to influence outcomes and policies you find desirable.

Another Conviction

Another 9/11 conviction:

Spanish court today convicted a Syrian man of conspiring to commit the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the United States, and found 17 other men guilty of belonging to or aiding a Spanish cell of Al Qaeda under his command.

Imad Eddin Barakat Yarkas, 41, also known as Abu Dahdah, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for helping to plan the attacks and to 12 years for leading the cell, which was based in Madrid.

Good, I guess.

You know, if you’re going to adopt a nom de guerre, couldn’t you come up with something better than “Abu Dahdah”?

And cultural sensibilities aside, that just sounds silly.

Be nice if we could get a conviction or two, wouldn’t it?

And, circle, I think he went with that because “Abu Doodah Dey” was already taken.

Wait, but the W.o.T. is NOT a law enforcement campaign, it is a militrary campaign. We are wasting resources fighting them this way and it show us as being weak law abiding people.

Why is a Syrian being tried for an attack on America in Spain?

Oh, because the rest of the civilized world wants him to get a real trial.

Perhaps the Spaniards are still a little peeved at Al Qaeda, for their actions in Madrid on 3/11. Maybe they like justice to come to murderous criminals whenever possible.

Wow, they know that Al-Queda was behind 3/11? Funny, there seems to be no evidence proving that link.

But you seem to ignore my question, that being, why did Spain try an Al-Queda leader for crimes against the US? Why not hand him over to the US?

My theory is that they don’t trust the US with him.

    Hey John!

Sheehan was arrested! And yet we get silence from the Sheehan bashing central site!

Could it be you’ve figured out that Cindy just reached Nirvanna?

And do you think shipping her off to Gitmo is the answer?

Enquiring minds (those not deluded with the kool aide) wanna know!

Wow, they know that Al-Queda was behind 3/11?

Well, seeing as how they took credit for it last week, I’d kind of think that you would cut the tin-foil hat crap.

Are you saying al-Qaeda was framed? I find it hard to believe the man was convicted with absolutely no evidence.

Abu Dahdah? Lol Abu means father. He’s father Dahdah or Daddy Dahdah. Whichever makes you laugh hardest.
