I am starting to calm down about the whole ‘chemical weapon’ accusation, which really honked me off something bigtime.
And this provided me with a much needed laugh. This is the part of politics that I do genuinely find amusing, and wish there was more of it. The world needs another Dick Tuck.

Its hard to be a Dick Tuck from a Free Speech zone, John

Dick Tuck? Wasn’t he in “Silence of the Lambs?”

Rim SHOT!

Thanks. I’ll be here all week.

Dick Tuck had a staring role in Ace Ventura, Pet Detective.

I’ve lost track. Who is DougJ today?
srv
Even with Parkinsons, Ali is closer to reality than GW will ever be.
KC
I think Dick Tuck is DougJ.

Dick Tuck is hilarious. His antics (from 1950 to 1972? Damn!) help me to understand why Nixon was so paranoid.
Another source has this to say about the 1968 campaign: Tuck hired several pregnant women to hold up the Nixon campaign slogan on signs during Republican rallies in California. The slogan? “Nixon’s the One!”
Subtle, hilarious, and good-natured.
Joey
lmao, Oh, that really is terrible. Yet, it is also incredibly funny. “It puts the lotion on it’s skin or else it gets the hose again!”
Cyrus
Dammit John, you should have put up a “Not safe for work” notice before the Wikipedia link. Not because of the content – I was struggling to keep from laughing out loud in the middle of the office, bastard!
Boombo
Wasn’t he the one who kept getting the bands to play “Mack the Knife” at receptions for Nixon?
albee
Dick Tuck was a Democrat dirty tricks man. Ha ha! When Nixon did it all hell broke loose.
Goes to show you the media holds the two parties to a different standard
DJAnyReason
Ahem…
“Shows what a master Dick Tuck is … Segretti’s hasn’t been a bit similar.” – Richard Nixon
Evidently, the media isn’t the only one who held the two parties’ tricksters to different standards…

Dick Tuck was an artist at it. Nixon’s man that attempted it was a heavy handed thug incapable of the simplicity and hilarity of Dick Tuck’s antics.
And the media got a better kick out of Dick Tuck for exactly that reason.
Just goes to show you Democrats have a sense of humor and Republicans like to hit things with a stick.
Joey
Okay, seriously, when is this nonsense going to end? The media is biased towards any one political party (outside of Fox, but they at least make it obvious). They are biased towards whatever gets them ratings. They are biased towards MONEY. Cut this shit out. And I hardly consider what Dick Tuck did to be “dirty tricks”. They were funny, and they had a point, but they were hardly dirty.
Joey
*is not biased, excuse me.
Steve S
Oh come on. You can’t tell me that you don’t think G. Gordon Liddy isn’t funny.
Granted, he’s funny in a funny-scarey kind of way. Kind of like Freddie Krueger. Oh man did I ever laugh at Nightmare on Elmstreet Part 43!

That turkey thing is pretty darn funny.

What turkey thing? When a bunch of Republican’s were standing around a turkey beating it with sticks?
stickler
Yeah, Dick Tuck’s antics were pretty hilarious. But you have to admit … he followed Dick Nixon around for twenty-five years! That’s borderline unhealthy. Although few American politicians could inspire a sense of loathing like Nixon could.
Reinforces the ancient principle of politics, too: just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean somebody isn’t out to get you.
Cyrus
OK, I missed this in all the talk about Dick Tuck, but… since when is Duncan Black the Prince of Darkness? Did I miss the memo?
Damn, I had lunch with the guy (Satan, not Black) just last week, you’d think he would have told me!
