Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The desire to stay informed is directly at odds with the need to not be constantly enraged.

If you still can’t see these things even now, maybe politics isn’t your forte and you should stop writing about it.

All hail the time of the bunny!

We will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight.

The press swings at every pitch, we don’t have to.

When do we start airlifting the women and children out of Texas?

Not so fun when the rabbit gets the gun, is it?

We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. keep building.

Bark louder, little dog.

So it was an October Surprise A Day, like an Advent calendar but for crime.

One of our two political parties is a cult whose leader admires Vladimir Putin.

Weird. Rome has an American Pope and America has a Russian President.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

How stupid are these people?

This year has been the longest three days of putin’s life.

This country desperately needs a functioning fourth estate.

America is going up in flames. The NYTimes fawns over MAGA celebrities. No longer a real newspaper.

People really shouldn’t expect the government to help after they watched the GOP drown it in a bathtub.

Their freedom requires your slavery.

Republicans cannot even be trusted with their own money.

75% of people clapping liked the show!

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

Not all heroes wear capes.

First, the Warcrack dances:

Second, one of the things I realy, really like about the internet is how certain things can go “cyber” and become cultural (subcultural, actually- most people on the street would look at you funny if you said you had been Rickrolled) phenomenons. The newest one is the Rickroll, which is popular on forums that dorks like me frequent. People will allegedly post a link to an authoritative video source, users will click on the link, and what they will find is the following:

The intertrons is a funny, funny thing.

Rick Roll may be newer and funnier, but how about some props for the good old-fashioned Duck Roll?

I had no idea that Rick Astley invented white dancing.

What were the production values on that video? Buck ten? Buck twenty five?

At least it’s not the old goat.se gag. That one got me a couple of times before I stopped clicking comment links on Stupid Videos.

Re: WoW Dance: Thank God they didn’t include the female human dance. I may have had to blow up my computer for accidentally playing the macarena.

    “Buck ten? Buck twenty five?”

That should be in quid, silly. Low values of quid, but quid nonetheless.

A bit OT, but since Warcraft came up, I thought I’d post the following: Boy, 10, visits Blizzard courtesy of Make a Wish Foundation. Just a real touching and cool story about a local kid here in OC who’s been stricken with brain cancer – Blizzard took him in and made him the first outsider to create a new character for the game.

I’m not into Warcraft, but I am a gamer – always nice to see the gaming community come together for one of their own.
