On the Road is a weekday feature spotlighting reader photo submissions.
From the exotic to the familiar, whether you’re traveling or in your own backyard, we would love to see the world through your eyes.
cdmarine, Learning to be Married.
Email me a link to your one or two favorite pics on a photo site like Flickr (do not send the image itself please) and I will put up favorites in open threads. Send a short caption if you want one.
Wow — there are some incredibly talented people here!
@cdmarine–first lesson, you never stop learning, nor would you want to
@montysanto–young lad has a big hat to fill
and dammit, tim, curse yer good eye, coulda put up my dreck lol
The Grand Panjandrum
Devilstower continues the great series of posts on evolution at GOS. Excellent reading and quite fascinating for those of us not familiar with the histroy of eugenics.
I bought a new camera a few days ago, went out yesterday with it and snapped a few (scores, really) in different modes-auto, shutter priority, aperture p, etc etc. Wanted especially to see if I could reproduce this picture. This is one attempt from a moving quad, one handed. It came out OK. Better color, just not quite capturing the essence as well. Not holdin his tongue right. LOL
Ya’ll rock with your bad photog selves.
Me, I’m doing NaNoWriMo, so I will probably be around less. Here is a photography edition, SoFoBoMo.
@jeffreyw: I wasn’t on last night. Jack back yet? *crosses fingers*
cdmarine, I really dig that pic. I noticed it when you first posted a link to your Flickr site.
Needs moar “BORN TO KILL”!
Since the Steelers are on a bye, does that mean no football thread?
I’d like to offer up a suggestion of a “Go Bills” thread in its place…
@jeffreyw: Damn damn damn.
@Max: Seriously, we can’t have that with Favre going to play in Green Bay and the Lions having a winnable game.
@Morbo: Let’s make our own….
Yee-haw Bills interception…
I took Balty, Detroit and Minnesota amongst others. In the afternoon, I’d like to see the Titans take it over Jax.
For those of you who get it, the Sundance channel is/was showing a 75 minute documentary on Henri Cartier-Bresson. Don’t know if they’ll show it again but it’s worth keeping an eye out for it.
Give me football thread! Stupid lazy bloggers, don’t focus on the important things, like the Seahawks sucking again. :(
This is my favourite of my photographs. Taken in Springbank Park, London, ON, Canada.
My oldest is doing that, too. We kicked in 25 clams to keep the servers running for another hour or two. Good luck!
I’m glad to see b&w pix, digital almost killed the form entirely.
I really would like to see more of these sorts of posts, plz.
Good eyes abound here, it seems!
Hey. I know that woman!
Me too (though I haven’t been around much anyway, thanks to work).
Today I turned thirty. It beats the alternative, I guess.
@R-Jud: Happy birthday, fellow Scorpio! I’m almost a quarter-century ahead of you, and believe me, despite the deterioration of the physical infrastructure, the improved learning curve in the emotional/mental realms make it worth marching forward.
cdmarine and I went to college together, even shared an apartment for a while our senior year. You’re damn right she’s talented!
Jeebus! I step away for awhile and it’s “Yay for me!” day! Very glad people like that shot. It was something of an accident, actually. I had been working on an entirely different shot for a couple of hours and just not getting what I wanted. I just said, “OK, just shake it out and go all limp and rubbery,” and that’s what happened. It’s a little unnerving that the creative process is so often random like that, but that’s what it is.
@jeffreyw: True dat. Love always learns.
@chris, @RainKing: LOL! Always good to see the cult of me in attendance.
