On the Road is a weekday feature spotlighting reader photo submissions.
From the exotic to the familiar, whether you’re traveling or in your own backyard, we would love to see the world through your eyes.
Supak, Consoling.
Mike Dresslar, Lost Game Face.
Email me a link to your one or two favorite pics on a photo site like Flickr (do not send the image itself please) and I will put up favorites in open threads. Send a short caption if you want one.
Click on the photos for a link to the photographer’s website. To see all photo threads, click on ‘photo blogging’ at the bottom of the post.
If your computer cannot read our email links at top right, my email is (remove the zeroes): portus0jackson0ii at yahoo dot com.

Good god. The photogs in our group continue to amaze me. That first pic is especially evocative.
RedKitten
That second one reminds me forcibly of this one.
Although I assume that the reason for “the lip” was quite different.
JK
Just did a doubletake. I thought that caption read Stupak, Consoling instead of Supak, Consoling.
If only Bart Stupak were a professional photographer instead of some asshole in Congress trying to make bad law and ram it down everyone’s throat.
asiangrrlMN
@RedKitten: I certainly hope so!
asiangrrlMN
@JK: If he were anything but a Congressperson…sigh. Hiya. How goes it?

Anyone else see this? Intel(tm) says we’re gonna have chip implants in our brains by 2020.
I’m wondering, how different would that be, functionally, from mind-reading and/or hive mind?
For instance, we’d all be able to make phone calls and communicate over a distance, all in our heads. And we’d have access to anything on the internet, close to instantly — no more getting into arguments over who won the pennant in 1974 or what the world population was in 1950. You’d just look it up and say it, or communicate wirelessly, and the other person would pause, look it up themselves, and go, “Oh, yeah, you’re right.”
Except for wingnuts. They’d be all like, “You can’t trust what you access on Wikipedia or Brittanica! Only trust Fox News!”

Makin tomato soup from scratch, well sorta scratch, canned tomatoes. It’s not going to be pretty.
WereBear
I’ve been predicting Chips in Our Heads for almost thirty years now. (Tip: Check out the movie, The President’s Analyst. Hilarious, and shows I’m not the only one.)
Takes “voices in my head” to a whole new level.
JK
@JGabriel:
That’s a great website. Thanks for reminding me of it.
I wish Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, and Philip K. Dick were still alive to witness the leaps and bounds taking place in computing and telecommunications.
JK
@WereBear:
The President’s Analyst was a great movie.
Too bad no one remembers it or the careers of Godfrey Cambridge and Severn Darden.

NOOOOO!
(Makes desperate plans to go to Nusach Hari for access to television)

Try again

@asiangrrlMN:
It’s going fair. Took a long refreshing walk yesterday to take advantage of great November weather in NY and will shortly do the same today. Have a great week.
Mario Piperni
I’m starting to dislike Lieberman more by the day.

@JK: Cool. It’s good to just take a walk now and then.
@jeffreyw: Pictures! To prove that even you are not infallible.
MNPundit
Hmm, I’m surprised those parents didn’t FREAK OUT when their kids pictures were put on the internet.
Tim F.
@MNPundit: Mostly parents are the one who photograph their kids, put it on Flickr and send it to me.

That turtle is totally going to eat that poor girl’s brain, kinda like the barnacle DougJ was talking about the other day. That makes the other kid sad. The baseball kid, too.
I like interesting kid pics like these.
jeffreyw
@asiangrrlMN: OK, here ya go:
starter mix, nearing the finish after much toil, and I’d best save the last pic for another comment.
jeffreyw
And to the table it goes.

Awww, That second one, I want to pinch reach out and pinch that cheek.
