Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

With all due respect and assumptions of good faith, please fuck off into the sun.

Hey hey, RFK, how many kids did you kill today?

There is no compromise when it comes to body autonomy. You either have it or you do not.

Let me file that under fuck it.

I’ve spoken to my cat about this, but it doesn’t seem to do any good.

Trumpflation is an intolerable hardship for every American, and it’s Trump’s fault.

“Jesus paying for the sins of everyone is an insult to those who paid for their own sins.”

Sitting here in limbo waiting for the dice to roll

And now I have baud making fun of me. this day can’t get worse.

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

Giving up is unforgivable.

People are complicated. Love is not.

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

We’re watching the self-immolation of the leading world power on a level unprecedented in human history.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

The desire to stay informed is directly at odds with the need to not be constantly enraged.

Usually wrong but never in doubt

He really is that stupid.

This is dead girl, live boy, a goat, two wetsuits and a dildo territory.  oh, and pink furry handcuffs.

Jack be nimble, jack be quick, hurry up and indict this prick.

This chaos was totally avoidable.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

So many bastards, so little time.

When they say they are pro-life, they do not mean yours.

Good god. The photogs in our group continue to amaze me. That first pic is especially evocative.

That second one reminds me forcibly of this one.

Although I assume that the reason for “the lip” was quite different.

Just did a doubletake. I thought that caption read Stupak, Consoling instead of Supak, Consoling.

If only Bart Stupak were a professional photographer instead of some asshole in Congress trying to make bad law and ram it down everyone’s throat.

Anyone else see this? Intel(tm) says we’re gonna have chip implants in our brains by 2020.

I’m wondering, how different would that be, functionally, from mind-reading and/or hive mind?

For instance, we’d all be able to make phone calls and communicate over a distance, all in our heads. And we’d have access to anything on the internet, close to instantly — no more getting into arguments over who won the pennant in 1974 or what the world population was in 1950. You’d just look it up and say it, or communicate wirelessly, and the other person would pause, look it up themselves, and go, “Oh, yeah, you’re right.”

Except for wingnuts. They’d be all like, “You can’t trust what you access on Wikipedia or Brittanica! Only trust Fox News!”

I’ve been predicting Chips in Our Heads for almost thirty years now. (Tip: Check out the movie, The President’s Analyst. Hilarious, and shows I’m not the only one.)

Takes “voices in my head” to a whole new level.

    @JGabriel:

That’s a great website. Thanks for reminding me of it.

I wish Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, and Philip K. Dick were still alive to witness the leaps and bounds taking place in computing and telecommunications.

    @WereBear:

The President’s Analyst was a great movie.

Too bad no one remembers it or the careers of Godfrey Cambridge and Severn Darden.

It’s going fair. Took a long refreshing walk yesterday to take advantage of great November weather in NY and will shortly do the same today. Have a great week.

@MNPundit: Mostly parents are the one who photograph their kids, put it on Flickr and send it to me.

That turtle is totally going to eat that poor girl’s brain, kinda like the barnacle DougJ was talking about the other day. That makes the other kid sad. The baseball kid, too.

I like interesting kid pics like these.
