Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

The most dangerous place for a black man in America is in a white man’s imagination.

Stay strong, because they are weak.

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

If rights aren’t universal, they are privilege, not rights.

“The defense has a certain level of trust in defendant that the government does not.”

I did not have this on my fuck 2025 bingo card.

If you don’t believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love isn’t freedom, it is privilege.

The arc of the moral universe does not bend itself. it is up to us to bend it.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Hi god, it’s us. Thanks a heap, you’re having a great week and it’s only Thursday!

Tick tock motherfuckers!

The lights are all blinking red.

Is trump is trying to break black America over his knee? signs point to ‘yes’.

Relentless negativity is not a sign that you are more realistic.

The low info voters probably won’t even notice or remember by their next lap around the goldfish bowl.

When we show up, we win.

If you thought you’d already seen people saying the stupidest things possible on the internet, prepare yourselves.

One of our two political parties is a cult whose leader admires Vladimir Putin.

Giving up is unforgivable.

In my day, never was longer.

Books are my comfort food!

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

What a Good Night

Fun night tonight. Had some friends over, and I made salsa and a fruit salad (pineapple, peaches, cherries, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and a touch of honey to finish it), and Bill (you saw him in an apron) made some tacos and dirty rice and his wife made a great salad. We had a couple daquiris and mojitos (with the fresh mint from the yard, listened to some music, and generally just had a good relaxing night. We were celebrating the one year anniversary of Lily’s adopting me, even though it is tomorrow, and Jill had just finished her exams. Nice to just unplug and just forget about all the bullshit.

For some reason, I’ve had this song going through my head for the past couple of days:

I guess I’ve also had this running through my head, and usually I would refer to it as dystopian angst, but it doesn’t seem too futuristic anymore. Enjoy, I guess.

It’s nice to hear that. The menu sounds yummy. Bad Horse has achieved a major milestone this weekend and I really want to tell you guys everything (actually I’ve wanted to tell you for the last 9 weeks), because I’m so proud, but if I did, that would reveal his secret identity and that I cannot do. So I’ll just have to listen to JC’s good music tracks and bid you all a good night.

Sometimes out on the Internets you find some really cool shit:

    pikeplacefish.com/Salmon-for-a-Soldier.html

A bit on the pricey side, but for a birthday or special day treat it would be worth a taste of something familiar. Oh and yes these are the guys who throw the fish.

“Goodbye Blue Sky” seemed futuristic to you??

My read has always been that it’s about the Blitz in WWII. Not much futuristic about it.

Well, after this post and dozens before it, I have finally come to the conclusions that John changed his mind on marriage equality and other gay issues for a lot of now obvious reasons.

    Just kidding.

But could you post the salsa recipe? I’ve tried many online, but I can never seem to get a good one.

Or maybe this post is too far down to even notice anymore.

Ooooh. I love that song. I remember it most from that episode of the Sopranos where Ralphie murdered one of the strippers. Still kind of gives me the creeps to hear it, but I do love it.
