    Paladino gave a speech yesterday in which he stated children should not be brainwashed into thinking homosexuality was acceptable. link

    His campaign manager, Michael R. Caputo, denied assertions that Mr. Paladino was antigay, and noted that he employed a gay man on his campaign staff.

    @JPL: Read the story last night but missed this the first time:

    “I just think my children and your children would be much better off and much more successful getting married and raising a family.”

    I guess Carl Palomino Paladino figured raising TWO families would make him TWICE as successful.

    I’d buy tickets to see that fat fuck burning in Hell.

    and noted that he employed a gay man on his campaign staff.

    Wonder how much whipping boys earn these days.

    That’s very cosmopolitan of Paladino to have a gay on his staff. I bet he has a black friend, too.

    @kommrade reproductive vigor: George Steph.. did not press him on GMA. He’s just thinking about the poor children. When asked about his emails he simply said you guys pick on me, what about Andrew. George then said they are your emails. Paladino then said he was sorry for hitting the forward button. No mention of the racial and sexual content of the emails.
    Steph is a wimp which might be understandable but not acceptable. Who among us wants to challenge the guy when he’s two feet away?

    This idiot, Paladino, was on the Today Show this morning trying to defend himself. It was all “I have gay friends!” and “I didn’t say the really, really, really bad thing, just the bad thing” and the ever popular, “I didn’t write it, the Jews did and I didn’t say it anyway.”

    Of course, Matt Lauer, fluffer extraordinaire, didn’t press him much. Or ask if being the father of a child with his mistress might just be bad for the children also. And no mention that I heard of his emailing proclivities.

    I hate the MSM with the heat of a thousand suns.

    Outside of Buffalo, where I’m currently attending school, is Paladino even popular? I’ve noticed in walking around and taking the bus that there are tons of Paladino signs everywhere, but only on some businesses, and almost exclusive what appear to be apartment buildings and converted Houses. Oh, and one firehouse near the bus station that has a “Carl Country” sign hanging in the dining area. Anywhere else, because you can’t win a governship with votes strictly from Buffalo, where I don’t think Palladino will get more the 50% of the votes upstate, if that.

    Will someone please inform these cumsocks that this kind of hyperbole is more than a little insulting to those of us who aren’t professional Beltway transcriptionists?

    There might be no worse job in American politics today than Tim Kaine’s. As chairman of the Democratic National Committee, the former Virginia governor has logged nearly 200,000 miles this campaign season, his life a whirl of cold chicken, anonymous hotel rooms and the seemingly endless task of slipping on and off his black leather shoes at one airport security checkpoint after another.

    Oh my god! Cold chicken? Totally the worst!

    Dicks.

    @TaMara (BHF): Speaking for a merged French-Canadian/Guyanese-Canadian family, Thanksgiving dinner usually involves:

    turkey and ham; tourtiere if a certain person has the time to bake some; some years, chicken roti; gravy!; stuffing!; rice pilaf; mashed potatoes and mashed rutabaga; roast sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts and peppers; buttered baby carrots; cranberry sauce; pickles; crescent rolls or buns; wine (red and white); Guyanese sponge/pound cake for dessert; plantain chips to eat during the killer card games.

    The black cake has to wait for Christmas. Mmm, black cake!

    Just had to share this amazing wingnut blog comment:

    There are also going to be a lot of life-support plugs pulled that week between Christmas and New Years. Sad that someone who has worked hard all their life has to plan their death and/or figure out ways to hide wealth just to avoid the government taking over half of what they’ve already paid taxes on multiple times during their lifetime.

    Yes, this person just insisted that there will be a rash of suicides/life-support unpluggings before 2011 in order to avoid paying a 3 percent increase in tax over $250,000. He thinks it’s the most perfectly rational belief in the world, in fact.

    Wow.

    @Bubblegum Tate:

    Naw, they’re thinking about the return of the estate tax.

    Hilarious that they think someone on life support is planning their death … or maybe they think someone is planning to be on life support and then planning their death.

    By the way, an administration-backed bill to increase the exemption and lower the tax rate passed the House but has been blocked in the Senate by Repubs.

    @Bubblegum Tate:

    It’s kind of fascinating that the commenter is convinced that it’s the actual person on life support who would be pulling the plug when it’s far more likely to be the greedy heirs who don’t want to have to pay taxes on what they get when the sick person dies.

    Apparently killing Grandma so you can avoid having to pay taxes on your inheritance is A-OK in the wingnut world, or at least is the sad but inevitable consequence of having estate taxes in the first place.
