“Bean knowledge” in Japanese means trivia or odd bits of information.

Paladino gave a speech yesterday in which he stated children should not be brainwashed into thinking homosexuality was acceptable. link
WereBear
@JPL: Mr. Caputo has my nomination for having a Very Bad Job.
JPL
@WereBear: Paladino is going to be on GMA to defend his comments.

@JPL: Read the story last night but missed this the first time:
I guess Carl
PalominoPaladino figured raising TWO families would make him TWICE as successful.I’d buy tickets to see that fat fuck burning in Hell.
Wonder how much whipping boys earn these days.
John S.
That’s very cosmopolitan of Paladino to have a gay on his staff. I bet he has a black friend, too.
JPL
@kommrade reproductive vigor: George Steph.. did not press him on GMA. He’s just thinking about the poor children. When asked about his emails he simply said you guys pick on me, what about Andrew. George then said they are your emails. Paladino then said he was sorry for hitting the forward button. No mention of the racial and sexual content of the emails.
Steph is a wimp which might be understandable but not acceptable. Who among us wants to challenge the guy when he’s two feet away?

@JPL: I’m sure we could find people. Unfortunately, they are not journalists. Funny how that works.

Is this related to the Mameshiba-Glenn Beck-Tea Party Twitterversy? It’s the latest in right wing conspiracy theories and it’s absofuckinghilariouz.

This idiot, Paladino, was on the Today Show this morning trying to defend himself. It was all “I have gay friends!” and “I didn’t say the really, really, really bad thing, just the bad thing” and the ever popular, “I didn’t write it, the Jews did and I didn’t say it anyway.”
Of course, Matt Lauer, fluffer extraordinaire, didn’t press him much. Or ask if being the father of a child with his mistress might just be bad for the children also. And no mention that I heard of his emailing proclivities.
I hate the MSM with the heat of a thousand suns.

@JPL: Mr. Caputo’s comment warrants a facepalm. One thing I can tell you is that this gay employee is not the one doing Mr. Paladino’s makeup.

Outside of Buffalo, where I’m currently attending school, is Paladino even popular? I’ve noticed in walking around and taking the bus that there are tons of Paladino signs everywhere, but only on some businesses, and almost exclusive what appear to be apartment buildings and converted Houses. Oh, and one firehouse near the bus station that has a “Carl Country” sign hanging in the dining area. Anywhere else, because you can’t win a governship with votes strictly from Buffalo, where I don’t think Palladino will get more the 50% of the votes upstate, if that.

@JPL: Hell I’d pay for the privilege of raking that sweaty fucker over the coals.
Seriously, how do I place a bid?

I’d like to know what our Canadian neighbors eat on their Thanksgiving. Anyone?

Just wondering…can the rest of us get a title like DougJ is the business and economics editor for Balloon Juice? I want to be called AxelFoley is the video games and sexual advice editor for Balloon Juice.

Will someone please inform these cumsocks that this kind of hyperbole is more than a little insulting to those of us who aren’t professional Beltway transcriptionists?
Oh my god! Cold chicken? Totally the worst!

Since this is an open thread… a friend of mine just launched a small policy website:

Thought it might be up your alley.

@TaMara (BHF): Speaking for a merged French-Canadian/Guyanese-Canadian family, Thanksgiving dinner usually involves:
turkey and ham; tourtiere if a certain person has the time to bake some; some years, chicken roti; gravy!; stuffing!; rice pilaf; mashed potatoes and mashed rutabaga; roast sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts and peppers; buttered baby carrots; cranberry sauce; pickles; crescent rolls or buns; wine (red and white); Guyanese sponge/pound cake for dessert; plantain chips to eat during the killer card games.
The black cake has to wait for Christmas. Mmm, black cake!

Just had to share this amazing wingnut blog comment:
Yes, this person just insisted that there will be a rash of suicides/life-support unpluggings before 2011 in order to avoid paying a 3 percent increase in tax over $250,000. He thinks it’s the most perfectly rational belief in the world, in fact.
Wow.
Steve
What is the trick you need to do in order to keep your blockquotes from showing up in boldface?
Zuzu's Petals
@Bubblegum Tate:
Naw, they’re thinking about the return of the estate tax.
Hilarious that they think someone on life support is planning their death … or maybe they think someone is planning to be on life support and then planning their death.
By the way, an administration-backed bill to increase the exemption and lower the tax rate passed the House but has been blocked in the Senate by Repubs.
Zuzu's Petals
@Steve:
Start the blockquote immediately below the preceeding line.
Mnemosyne
@Bubblegum Tate:
It’s kind of fascinating that the commenter is convinced that it’s the actual person on life support who would be pulling the plug when it’s far more likely to be the greedy heirs who don’t want to have to pay taxes on what they get when the sick person dies.
Apparently killing Grandma so you can avoid having to pay taxes on your inheritance is A-OK in the wingnut world, or at least is the sad but inevitable consequence of having estate taxes in the first place.
TaMara (BHF)
3rd try. Maybe this one will take:
@Comrade Mary: That all sounds wonderful. I had to google Tourtiere.
EDIT: FYWP

@Mnemosyne:
I think it’s the latter–after all, it’s got to be Obama’s fault, right?

I am now hooked on mameshiba. I don’t know whether to thank you or curse you. :)
