    Videotape these early days as much as you can. You’ll be so tired and (on the part of your wife) hormonal, that these early days will all too soon become hazy memories. I barely remember anything up until SamKitten was about 6 weeks old or so, between the fatigue and the wonkadoodle hormonal activity.

    Videotaping as much as you can will help you better remember those precious early days with your little one. And you’ll cherish those memories…believe me.

    Just to add: mother and baby doing splendidly. Father fine. Shaved, showered, coffeed, and now the node of a gigantic communications network.

    Pictures really don’t do justice to how cute this kid is. He takes after his mother, naturally. He’s also sleeping and feeding like a champ.

    If I had to give an analogy, he’s almost as cute as Jeffrey’s food pics plus the pets on the calendar.

    @pragmatism: agreed. and I was lucky–I met him! When Barca came to play their exhibition game here in the DC area they were training at my gym. I was there gawking at them for an hour and then ran and got my phone and took a picture of Xavi. I think no one at the gym but me and two other latinos knew who they were. :)

Some folks take umbrage at the parenting advice (although I personally found it to be dead on), but the section in the back on symptoms/what to do about them/what they mean alone is worth … a million bucks in the middle of the night when you’re sleep-deprived and something looks wrong.
