Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Just because you believe it, that does not make it true.

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

Take hopelessness and turn it into resilience.

All my Steelers’ fan friends are rooting for the Pats. Who are you rooting for?

Joe Perry Steve Tyler (I can’t keep those two straight) was awful, as he’s consistently been since he stopped taking coke.

And don’t forget, we’ve got the book club discussion at 8.

    Not Perry; it was Tyler. He was awful and I like Aerosmith (and Tyler). One of the best live shows I’ve seen.

    While on one level I’d like to see the Pats win Pats/Giants II, I can’t root for that game because it would give a Manning brother a good shot at winning another Super Bowl. So: Go Pats! Go Niners!

    Gabby Giffords is resigning from Congress to focus on her recovery. :-(

    I feel, in a way, Jared Loughner got a little victory today, because he accomplished part of his goal in removing her from Congress after the voters didn’t. It sends a scary message to all those right-wing nutjobs out there.

    Niners!

    Ordinarily if I have no rooting interest I’d pick the team with fewer previous Super Bowl chances; in the early game that would be the Ravens. But I like Brady, so I guess I’ll go with the Pats.

    I couldn’t possibly care less about who wins either the NFC or AFC championship, nor who wins the Stupor-Bowl two weekends from now. I’m one of those un-Merikin folks in the US who cares lots more about the “real” football: ManU vs Man City or Barcelona vs ManU than the ploddingly slow, frequently commercial-interrupted variant played in Merika.

    As for Steven Tyler, I used to just looooove him and Aerosmith. But you’re right about him sucking since he gave up the blow. And I can’t ever forgive him for being on American Idol. What dreck. On the bright side, he’s pretty nice to fans. My sister and her fiancé ran into him at a restaurant a couple of years ago and he was nice as could be, signing anything they wanted and happily posing for pictures. And he was with Liv, who was also just as awesome but a lot better looking.

    @Brother Shotgun of Sweet Reason:

    Here Here.

    But I gave up my Colt/Irsay hate back in the 90’s. I realized that while i focused on the Colts the fact is, regardless of that dumb-ass commercial they just showed of players singing to the fans at their work place, the players, owners, and coaches don’t love fans nearly as much as fans love them. They will sell you out in a heartbeat. I am happy I learned that lesson early and have saved myself a lot of grief and money over the years.

    What amazes me is that I thought that Cleveland would have learned their lesson with the Browns, but then with LeBron James you all bent over, grabbed ankle again and shouted “thank you sir may I have another” and they act all surprised when they get a big strap-on of greed shoved into their colon.

    At some point the Orioles will try to hold up the city and state for a taxpayer supported stadium with even more sky boxes. (Camden Yards is almost 20 years old after all. It must be showing its age by now) I hope Baltimore will have the sense to hold the door for them when they move. Maybe back to St. Louis.
