Another brutal day of biased librul media state polls for Romney. One shows him down 10 in Ohio. Nate Silver now gives Romney only a 20.3% change of winning the election.

Throw him an anvil by giving it up for metrosexual black Abe Lincoln.

@BGinCHI: the people running against Steve King (Fucking Loon-IA) and Michelle Bachmann are said to be within striking distance. IIRC the woman running against King is the daughter (?) of Tom Vilsack, who to us may be the doof who fired Shirley Sherrod, but a big name helps in this sort of thing. Chris Murphy in CT might be one worth looking at. Maybe the guy running against Alan West? Or Richard Cremona in AZ?

I want to say that the batshit crazy, desperation, ni*CLANG* stuff is about to start…

But I honestly get the feeling that Mittens just doesn’t really feel like running for President anymore.

He’s just going through the motions, running the clock out, until he can stop being Mitt Romney, the inadequate, pathetic candidate…and get back to being Mitt Romney, “King of Vulture Capitalism”, — “Titan of Wall St.”, — etc., etc…

Right now, the Mittster is thinking, “this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part.” And he’s just the guy to do it.

I predict some kind of combination hail Mary pass/kamikaze maneuver from him during the debates, some kind of really wild accusation or ludicrous promise. He’s hanging by a very thin thread, and I dig that about him.

He’ll do something memorable. And it will be the end of him.

I’d say it’s 60/40 that result over Romney’s innate arrogance and rage at being challenged make him blow it, if not in the spectacular way I would like to see.

Buried in Nate’s “it’s a horse race” commentary that he puts next to his “it’s over” numbers:

In other words, it seems unlikely that Mr. Romney can salvage either Iowa or Wisconsin if he’s already lost Ohio – in which case he will lose the election.

Of course he immediately goes on to speculate about Mitt successfully drawing to an inside straight … because that’s the way you have to think in order for it to be a horse race at this point.

The only way Obama will lose the debates is if he craps himself right on stage and flings it at the audience. Romney is already backed into a corner by his own talking points. If he says something different than what he was saying on the stump the flip-flopping is the story, not what he actually says. It doesn’t matter what the pundits try to spin, viewers make up their own minds and folks who don’t tune in don’t make their decisions based on a reporting of the debate outcome.

Romney isn’t Rocky fighting Apollo Creed with his right hand, waiting for the perfect moment to unleash his left. If Romney had some secret argument or talking point banked, it would have been spent already. The theme of the convention was a phrase taken out of context. Romney’s response to his 47% video was a 14-year old video of Obama supporting re-distribution, and it didn’t even make it through a news cycle.

Settle the fuck down, O’s got this.

Everyone, especially the Obama campaign, should keep the pressure on with constant intelligent and literate questioning of Romney’s many and changing perspectives on issues. Make him have to respond to everything so the fratboy frustration builds in him and his staff. Leave him no time to study (what he should already know) for the Debates. Though I doubt he has the will to study issues he clearly doesn’t care about. Make him self-righteously offended that questions are even being asked of him. His money, and Koch money, can’t keep him from stumbling over words and augment his insufficient comprehension of real and present political issues behind his podium.

But Americans can not take our eyes off the Rovien voter suppression and voter fraud that is cameoflaged by this silly campaign. The President needs the down ballot- the Senate and the House. We need federal Judgeships affirmed in every state if we are to change the course of these republican plans.

For decades we have been stuck with Republican Tim Johnson, who makes my stomach turn whenever I even see a photo of him. It’s been like having no representative in congress at all.

With redistricting, there is a new IL-13 district, that includes Champaign-Urbana, and we have a really great shot at winning. But the republican candidate has been lying his ass off with TV ads, and I’m worried that it’s working. David Gill is an ER doctor who wants to help the poor and our middle class, and they are lying on TV saying he will cut medicare, etc.

David Gill is really strong on reproductive rights and is really standing up for women, among other things.

I would expect Brown to be better at it, he’s actually experienced success running for national office.

I just don’t think Romney’s heart is in it anymore. When you consider just how awesome Romney thinks he is, only to struggle against the likes of Santorum, Gingrich, Cain and Bachman for the nomination. Then to constantly hear about everything that you (Romney) thought was a good idea, be called colossal failures by everyone* watching, I think is causing him to start pouting, and longing to go back to the environment where he was king of all he surveyed.

Not to mention that he is getting beaten…badly, by a man who’s blah. I think he’s ready to just take his ball a go home…we don’t really appreciate his greatness like we should anyway.

    http://www.nrcc.org/2012/09/24/video-new-nrcc-ad-on-david-gill/

That quote about how Medicare would no longer exist? That was said in the context of what would happen if we had a single-payer system. Medicare wouldn’t exist because it wouldn’t be needed as a separate entity. So they’re portraying a guy who wants single-payer as someone who’s ready to take health care away from seniors. If they had the capacity for it, they should be ashamed of themselves.

That said, they’re doing it because they’re running scared. Gill has a real chance of winning IL-13. So yes, please give us a hand.
