@kdaug: Sunday Night Football, and playoff implications. Both teams are going to the post-season, IIRC, but tonight’s game will affect who in their conference gets a week off.

Another strike against 1st Amendment rights:
A spokesman for the Ferguson Police Department was placed on unpaid leave after reportedly making dismissive comments about a memorial for Michael Brown, the 18-year-old black man who was shot and killed by white Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in August.
The makeshift memorial for Brown had been partly destroyed last week. When a reporter for The Washington Post asked the Ferguson Police Department about the incident, public information officer Timothy Zoll told the paper: “I don’t know that a crime has occurred. But a pile of trash in the middle of the street? The Washington Post is making a call over this?”

The old man of Pittsburgh needs the rest a lot more than the Cincinnati kid does, and I’ve never liked the Bengals uniforms. Go Steelers.

Can’t stand the Bengals. Not liking Pittsburgh much these days but mostly because of Rothlisberger.
And I am pretty sure we get the loser.
Go Colts.

Yutsano could be publically irreverent towards illegal tax schemers or freeman anti-tax movements and suffer no retribution. Except maybe getting shot in Idaho or Montana. But there has always been a tension between the 1st & 2nd Amendments.
The Steelers and the Bengals are playing for the division championship and a better slot in the playoffs, but the bye weeks are going to New England and Denver.

Wrong. I can be subject to discipline if I get specific about any one case. Exactly the same as this jerkwad did. Of course I don’t know why I’m answering since you’re an unserious troll anyway.
@Heliopause: My husband says it’s the special teams fault, mostly. I missed a lot of the details, busy doing some computer stuff while watching the game.
The Seahawks’ offensive line, in particular, have been sub-par all year, but the QB Wilson keeps managing to tap-dance his way out of trouble and salvage wins. (One derogatory nickname he’s picked up on opposing fan-sites is “The Hobbit”.) The defense has done well.
As a Hawks fan, I have to admit I pretty wrote them off around half-season, the way things were going, but they’ve managed to scrape through. I’ll still be impressed if they manage to go all the way again.

US-NATO have officially ended their combat mission in Afghanistan. What does Cole the one man mindless mob have to say about it? The guy who pissed and moaned endlessly about it. Go steelers!
That….is what a stupid looks like. He’;s too busy whining about the latest shiny object. Cops killing black people. That child is just not happy unless he has something to be cynical about. I have nothing but contempt for people like that.

I’d go even farther than that. The offensive line has basically been a disaster since Wilson arrived. Interesting stat; Seahawk run blocking has been consistently good, no surprise, but Football Outsiders, the stat geek site, ranked Seahawk pass blocking dead last in 2013-14, and had it 24th coming into today’s games. Something to keep in mind when we evaluate Wilson and the passing game.

@Geoduck: My dad says the reason Wilson is so successful is because he manages the game. He’s also wicked smaht at analysing things happening. But watching him, he’s also the master escape artist. When the play falls apart he can turn what would be a sack into a gain or an amazing play. I think he was just off today for some reason. Oh well, it’s still a win.

Yeah, you’re going to have to define your terms (i.e., what the hell is SNF? And how do you define big?)

Worth noting that the offense was terrible in the first half, desultory in the second, and they still won by two TDs.

You won’t have any difficulty handling those Ravens Saturday. We beat them twice.
Off to Indy. I feel better about that than beating the Ravens three times in one season.
