I haven’t been sleeping well the last couple of days, so this afternoon I took a long nap with just Lily (the best kind of nap- Thurston moves and squirms and jumps on my chest when he gets bored), so now I am up playing a little Warcrack. Need to be somewhere at nine so it is going to be a long day tomorrow.
I love all my animals, but Lily is just my favorite. Not sure why I am saying it, but she is that once in a lifetime dog. She’s perfect.
Little Boots
why are you awake? you run this place. sleep in.
Little Boots
and all dogs are perfect, but sometimes there is that one.
Little Boots
this place does get a little sleepy sometimes.
BillinGlendaleCA
The room downstairs seemed more lively.

@BillinGlendaleCA:

JC, I got my once in a lifetime dog when I was nine. I still have a picture of him displayed in my apartment. He was wonderful. Thinking about him can still draw after a tear or two after 30 years.
BillinGlendaleCA
@Omnes Omnibus: Ours was Wendy(American Cocker Spaniel), she’s been gone for almost 9 years.
Little Boots
dogs are the best. when they’re not a pain in the ass. which they are, even when they are the best.
Little Boots
you know, john, oh nevermind.
it is a cool thing about you that you actually visit your comment threads once in a while.
BillinGlendaleCA
@Little Boots: He does? We’re talking about the same John Cole?
Little Boots
@BillinGlendaleCA:
he used to.
Omnes Omnibus
@BillinGlendaleCA: Beau was an English Cocker. Blonde. He was papered so we didn’t have him snipped. Basically, he was a Regency beau. He picked duels, tried to seduce women, and was floppy haired and pretty as he did it. He used to try to sleep in my bed after I got up. He was as his gravestone says “a good dog..”
And on that, I am out..
Little Boots
maybe it’s why he doesn’t sleep so well. he needs the love.
Little Boots
@Omnes Omnibus:
aww, well that is very sweet.

Warcrack. Are you exploring the Tanaan Jungle, John? Getting your navy set up?

I have also shared my life with a collection of pets, each special in his or her own way. But one of our current cats, Fiona, has to be one of the very best. She’s so beautiful and so sweet that even people who dislike cats are smitten with her. When she turns her big blue eyes on you, there’s no way to resist her.
She adopted us as a porch cat and we took her in as a house cat. She was older when we adopted her so I don’t know how much time we’ll have together, but she’s a wonderful, loving sweetheart.

@Villago Delenda Est: The new patch is pretty awesome. I’m leveling some specific mini pets just for the new battles.

@Bethany Anne
It’s odd. Downloaded the patch on Tuesday but haven’t had any motivation to go in and play this week. All I’ve done is to pop on quickly in order to have my garrison followers go forth and bring back stuff to their fearless leader.
Presume the new area is pretty crowded.
At least had the foresight to let all my characters stockpile scads of battle pet tokens so can buy a boatload of stones and level up some more pets lickety-split if need to.
Villago Delenda Est
@NotMax: I’ve been surprised at how not really crowded it is, but I spent most of patchday downloading.
Pretty reasonable population of other players, not a whole lot of kill stealing, Part of that has to do with just how much new content there is, and how ridiculously time consuming it is.
Guild might try the new raid on Saturday. Some of us tried a mythic dungeon tonight, and it forces you to actually play the game and use all your abilities. We went in pretty well geared, thought we’d blow right through it, but wiped several times on the trash, until we got serious and focused on the seriously dangerous NPCs and took them out systemically.
So it’s been fun so far.

Thanks for the info.
Will eventually get to it. My usual strategy whenever a new area opens up is to first send in the feral druid and stealth around to check the place out as much as possible before taking on questing beyond the breadcrumb quests.
Primarily play solo and following the advice of an old Italian proverb: chi va piano va sano va lontano . (He who goes slowly goes safely and goes far.)
Realize I’m in a minority, but don’t miss flying at all in Draenor, Maybe just jaded by Blizzard’s habitual take away flying, restore flying hoo-ha.

Must be the name. I have a perfect cat named Lily. Having her has really helped make getting over my other favorite cat’s recent passing. My other cat and dog are wonderful, but Lily just has that something extra.
Bailey was my baby for 18 years. He was so attached to me that I would nearly trip over him all of the time. Whenever I sat down he had to be touching me somehow — he was always on my lap, and if I had the computer on my lap, he would lean against me. Sometimes it was a bit too much.
Lily has always been affectionate, but she was bit more reserved before. As soon as I came back from the Vet without Bailey, Lily assumed his role as snuggler-in-chief. It’s like she knew I needed attention. It’s probably more likely that she is relieved that the competition is gone and she’s taking over as top cat, but I like to think she knew I was grieving and needed comfort, so I’ll just go with that.

@Omnes Omnibus: with all due respect, delurking long enough to say, sounds like a Restoration-era beau…at least, their wigs always reminded me irresistibly of spaniel ears…
And that my forever dog was a Siberian Husky, acquired as a puppy on my honeymoon…what can I say, that relationship outlasted my marriage. A princess as a puppy, a beeyotch-queen as she grew older. A difficult and beautiful soul. Oh dear, now I’m teary.
