Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The republican caucus is covering themselves with something, and it is not glory.

Their shamelessness is their super power.

When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty. ~Thomas Jefferson

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

They fucked up the fucking up of the fuckup!

If rights aren’t universal, they are privilege, not rights.

Republicans do not pay their debts.

Stamping your little feets and demanding that they see how important you are? Not working anymore.

There are times when telling just part of the truth is effectively a lie.

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

This must be what justice looks like, not vengeful, just peaceful exuberance.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Disagreements are healthy; personal attacks are not.

If you are still in the gop, you are either an extremist yourself, or in bed with those who are.

“Alexa, change the president.”

Insiders who complain to politico: please report to the white house office of shut the fuck up.

Welcome to day five of every-bit-as-bad-as-you-thought-it-would-be.

The world has changed, and neither one recognizes it.

Imperialist aggressors must be defeated, or the whole world loses.

Relentless negativity is not a sign that you are more realistic.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

When your entire life is steeped in white supremacy, equality feels like discrimination.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.

On the Road is a weekday feature spotlighting reader photo submissions.

From the exotic to the familiar, whether you’re traveling or in your own backyard, we would love to see the world through your eyes.

Submit Your Photos

Good Morning All,

This weekday feature is for Juicers who are are on the road, traveling, or just want to share a little bit of their world via stories and pictures. So many of us rise each morning, eager for something beautiful, inspiring, amazing, subtle, of note, and our community delivers – a view into their world, whether they’re far away or close to home – pictures with a story, with context, with meaning, sometimes just beauty. By concentrating travel updates and tips here, it’s easier for all of us to keep up or find them later.

So please, speak up and share some of your adventures and travel news here, and submit your pictures using our speedy, secure form. You can submit up to 7 pictures at a time, with an overall description and one for each picture.

You can, of course, send an email with pictures if the form gives you trouble, or if you are trying to submit something special, like a zipped archive or a movie. If your pictures are already hosted online, then please email the links with your descriptions.

For each picture, it’s best to provide your commenter screenname, description, where it was taken, and date. It’s tough to keep everyone’s email address and screenname straight, so don’t assume that I remember it “from last time”. More and more, the first photo before the fold will be from a commenter, so making it easy to locate the screenname when I’ve found a compelling photo is crucial.

Have a wonderful day, and enjoy the pictures!

Today, pictures from valued commenter raven.

These are from our quick trip to Edisto Island last week. I didn’t take a computer with an SD slot so I had to wait to submit,

Me in my new fishing shirt with gaiter!

Bitchin’! I’ve not done saltwater fishing (yet, it’s in the plans), so I don’t have that rig, but I do have something similar for fishing the creeks and streams of the Rockies, before I moved out of Colorado. Where you’ve got the hood, I’ve got a Tilley hat, light green gaiter, and SPF 75 long sleeve shirt to keep the sun and bugs off. As a kid, I spent 3 months living in Saudi Arabia and learned from the locals how keeping the sun off you, even if the clothes felt hot, was a better choice in the hot sun. And, truth be told, the sun in low-moisture, thin-air Colorado at 5,000+ feet is brutal, even more so when you get higher.

Beautiful, all of them! Thank you so much Raven.

Thank you so much raven, do send us more when you can.

Travel safely everybody, and do share some stories in the comments, even if you’re joining the conversation late. Many folks confide that they go back and read old threads, one reason these are available on the Quick Links menu.

One again, to submit pictures: Use the Form or Send an Email

I love the colors in the last one of the shrimp boat.

@Mary G: My guide had a neck gaiter that he just pulled off, dunked in his cooler water and put it back on. It was about 105 heat index so that is a nice way to stay cool. Mine is built in so I had to just pour bottled water on it.

I’m waiting at the airport in Munich. Unfortunately this holiday is ending. After I get home I suppose I’ll submit some photos from Bavaria, which was wonderful.

Nice stuff. The Criminal? or Fisherman? photo is incomplete however without the inclusion of polarized fishing glasses for a real incognito effect. ?

I like all the photos but I especially like the photo of the fishing boat. I haven’t sailed in years but I remember enough to be completely in awe of the people who manage all those lines and equipment.
