This is our Holidays When We Were Little Christmas series. We only have one week of Christmas / Holiday photos this year because you guys are slackers. :-)
It’s Monday, can you guess who this is?
Me in 1953, age three years and three months.
Gotta love the linoleum!
🎄
How about the rest of you? You must have old holiday photos tucked away in a drawer somewhere. Send them in! ~WG

Somebody’s a tinsel fan.
rikyrah
Too cute for words🤗
JPL
Do they still sell tinsel? Sweet pictures.
Geminid
@JPL: I think you can still buy the plastic tinsel, but you can no longer get the good stuff made out of lead because the Woke Mob canceled it several decades ago.
That sinister act began the sorry process that resulted in our current predicament. What good is not having brain damage when you don’t have Liberty either?
mrmoshpotato
@Geminid: Someone misses leaded gasoline! 😁
OzarkHillbilly
Nope, not a one.
Dorothy A. Winsor
@OzarkHillbilly: I don’t either. My parents didn’t own a camera. It was too expensive.

If Santa had messed with my sis. . .

Tree, 1968. . . RVN.

7th ID Card, 1967.

This one is weird, I had never noticed the cards over the cash register until a couple of years ago! This is the EM club manager.
You may ask if this stuff qualifies as “when we were little”? I was 17 so, maybe!
oldster
That linoleum — what were you doing in our basement??
cope
The coveralls are quite spiffy and you seem inordinately pleased to have an empty Christmas stocking.
Butch
@Dorothy A. Winsor: Am I the only one who remembers gifts (if there were any that year) wrapped in newspaper because Christmas paper was too expensive?
villiageidiocy
@Butch: Not for Christmas, but I remember using the funnies to wrap birthday presents. Colorful, and free (once you paid your subscription).
Ella in New Mexico
@Geminid:
There was always lead soldering wire to use as pretend “braces”…I kid you not
Where were our parents?
SiubhanDuinne
You were incredibly cute, but I was going to guess David Anderson simply because both the overalls and stocking are emblazoned “DAVID” in letters you can see from across the room. Then I noticed the photographer’s name.
So Albatrossity took your Christmas photo? I have a confuse.
But you were very cute.
WaterGirl
@raven: I remember that one. Classic raven!
WaterGirl
@raven: @raven:
What is a 7th ID card? And what is an EM club?
Please pardon my ignorance. :-)
edit: Answered below.
cope
@SiubhanDuinne: I too was confused but I am guessing WaterGirl just forgot to credit the pic as being our esteemed Albatrossity.
WaterGirl
@Ella in New Mexico:
That was my first laugh out loud today. My two sisters had braces and HATED them so we were definitely not playing that game.
cope
@WaterGirl: I’m guessing 7th Air Cavalry and EM = enlisted men.
WaterGirl
@cope: I didn’t forget! I asked you to guess. And I left you a big, fat clue.
“It’s Monday, can you guess who this is?”
How many OTR posts have begun with It’s Albatrossity Monday!?
WaterGirl
@SiubhanDuinne: That adorable boy in the overalls is Albatrossity. His dad was a photographer.
WaterGirl
@cope: Thanks for the translation!
cope
And you have given me my first “slaps head” moment of the day. I’m usually sharper after my second cup of coffee.
ETA: I blame the stress of moving.
WaterGirl
This thread is making me happy. Thank you, Albatrossity, for being the first person to submit a holiday photo for this week!
Scamp Dog
@WaterGirl: 7th Infantry Division and the Enlisted Men’s club.
Update: too slow to the answer, I see.
gvg
Tinsel gets eaten by pets who then barf or poop it. Do not get it. Also more likely to cause tree accidents due to climbing and leaping…and vet bills.
Albatrossity
@WaterGirl: You are quite welcome. Since my dad was a photographer, I’ve got a million more where that came from!
Looking forward to the rest of the week!
Paul in KY
@raven: You act like you’re not buying his spiel.
Paul in KY
@gvg: You do get festive poop, though!
raven
@cope: Late reply. The 7th Infantry Division known as
the crushed beer can”!
StringOnAStick
@OzarkHillbilly: I also have no holiday photos, or any childhood photos. The folks didn’t take many, and my now late mother decided her kids were all a mistake, so she destroyed the rest in her early dementia days. No loss though; I don’t have any kids so there’s no one to pass them to anyway.
way2blue
Tinsel! I remember we would throw it at the tree and it would land where it landed…
