Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Let me file that under fuck it.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

Petty moves from a petty man.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

A sufficient plurality of insane, greedy people can tank any democratic system ever devised, apparently.

JFC, are there no editors left at that goddamn rag?

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

Books are my comfort food!

When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty. ~Thomas Jefferson

Republicans cannot even be trusted with their own money.

Wow, I can’t imagine what it was like to comment in morse code.

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

Those who are easily outraged are easily manipulated.

The party of Reagan has become the party of Putin.

“Just close your eyes and kiss the girl and go where the tilt-a-whirl takes you.” ~OzarkHillbilly

When you’re in more danger from the IDF than from Russian shelling, that’s really bad.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

The WCK food pallets were delivered to a Jordanian field hospital in hard-to-reach northern Gaza. The shipment included rice, dates, tomato paste, oil, fava beans, a variety of spices, and other desperately needed food for families on the brink of famine. At the same time, our teams are sending convoys of trucks to northern Gaza to support hospitals and displaced families. In Rafah, we are implementing more innovative techniques like specially designed baking steels and non-electric slow cookers to prepare tens of thousands of meals for Palestinians seeking safety. Read the latest from Gaza here.

If you click on the thermometer below, you can choose to donate to World Central Kitchen and/or Razom for Ukraine.

WCK made our first airdrop delivery of food into northern Gaza—largely inaccessible on the ground. With the help of the air forces of Jordan & Netherlands, we delivered 500 pallets of humanitarian aid to families on the verge of famine. #ChefsForThePeople https://t.co/87W08CQIfb pic.twitter.com/VYDtUictUr

We wondered why they couldn’t airdrop food in Gaza, and now we know.  They can.  It’s dusty in here.

I think Chef Andres is just about my favorite Washingtonian. I’m not sure why I’m still awake but this thread is reminding me to send him a donation and maybe I’ll make a reservation at Oyamel or try out his new place later this week.

edit: donation made. Thanks for the BJ link. Maybe that’ll help me calm down and go to sleep.

I’m up because hubby’s procedure to remove his kidney stones is this morning. I got the earliest time possible because it’s hard for a diabetic to fast for a long time – their blood sugar gets too low. Wish us luck, we’re waiting to check in now.

Very proud of Chef Andrés and the Jordanian Air Force.  Good work.

He is courageous.  We need some Chef Andrés in Congress, instead of the Putinists we are afflicted with.  I rather wish we could airdrop the Putinists into Northern Gaza, or behind Ukrainian or Russian lines.  (I fear the Ukrainians might treat them with courtesy, though.)

WCK is a monthly donation for me since Putin traipsed into Ukraine.

Jose Andres may be my favorite philanthropist, hope the Nobel Committee agrees.  I love “when you are blessed with much, build a bigger table, not a higher wall!”. Paraphrased and maybe not only his, but it’s a slogan I repeat constantly.  In these times, it’s truer than ever.
