Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Giving in to doom is how authoritarians win.

I don’t recall signing up for living in a dystopian sci-fi novel.

The party of Reagan has become the party of Putin.

“woke” is the new caravan.

Many life forms that would benefit from greater intelligence, sadly, do not have it.

So very ready.

Of course you can have champagne before noon. That’s why orange juice was invented.

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

This isn’t Democrats spending madly. This is government catching up.

If America since Jan 2025 hasn’t broken your heart, you haven’t loved her enough.

Tide comes in. Tide goes out. You can’t explain that.

Mediocre white men think RFK Jr’s pathetic midlife crisis is inspirational. The bar is set so low for them, it’s subterranean.

It’s all just conspiracy shit beamed down from the mothership.

No one could have predicted…

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

We know you aren’t a Democrat but since you seem confused let me help you.

Let’s bury these fuckers at the polls 2 years from now.

To the privileged, equality seems like oppression.

Democracy cannot function without a free press.

Polls are now a reliable indicator of what corporate Republicans want us to think.

Motto for the House: Flip 5 and lose none.

Not loving this new fraud based economy.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

One White Russian, two beers, and two vodka martinis later, as well as a filet and some asparagus and some garlic mashed potatoes, and I am ready for results.

So we have Vermont right now.

    two things i can’t believe:

one – the networks are calling kentucky for mcmuffin, with only 10% of the exit polls having mcmuffin 52% to obama 47%. a bit premature, nes c’est pas?

and two – what the hell is michelle malkin’s picture doing on this blog?

Leftover fried rice and roast chicken, and water for the moment–have to rehydrate after a day in the classroom. But I’ve got a big St. Bernardus in the fridge, ready to pop at the proper moment.

I earlier suggested the server hosting the dKos tracker is bulletproof; current response time is suggesting that the netroots may be testing its armor-piercing ammo.

Why are you suppressing my two attempted posts in previous thread alleging that you have on clown shoes tonight? Are those the trip words?
    Mmmmmmmm…garlic mashed potatoes! Filet, asparagus.
I just ate a whole bag of Snyder’s Butter Snaps.
I will not be bitter tonight!!

Why are you suppressing my two attempted posts in previous thread alleging that you have on "shoes that befit a hobo" tonight? Are those the trip words? (apparently so, since I can’t say those two words and stay out of moderated prison spanking hell.)

    That can be rhetorical.

Indiana is way too close. GAH!

Mary, that’s supposed to be a good thing.

    From Kos’ Front Page:

If Indiana is announced too close to call when polls close this year, it will be an indicator that Barack Obama is headed for a similar landslide victory himself, even if he isn’t quite able to carry the state.
