YIt’s almost like a home game for the Portuguese as they have a huge Portuguese immigrant popularion in France.
Kind of sad to see the longtime Icelandic player Einar Gudjonsson missing out on this.
Feel free to trash Pepe in this thread.

Given that Iceland has only about 300,000 inhabitants, what percentage of the Icelandic population is today in St Etienne?
Randinho
@SRW1: Good question..
First dive by CRonaldo in the 12th minute. Iceland doing some good pressing early.
JCJ
@Randinho:
How many dives does CR7 average per game?
Randinho
@JCJ: Good question. As a commentator said in the 2010 WC: “Anything makes him fall. A puff of wind.”

@Randinho: nowhere near as bad as Pepe, though. If you offered your hand to pull him up after he has slipped on wet turf, he would clutch his throat and projectile vomit blood

@Randinho: How else will be able to tell that he is playing hard if he has not scored?

ICELAND!!!

I’m loving the work rate of the Icelanders (Icelandicians?). Hope they can hang on or even notch another.

@SRW1:
Apparently the Icelandic population of males between 18 and 40 is just over 50km, so realistically the pool of players Iceland can potentially draw their team from must be around half that. Kind of puts their 2nd place finish in their qualification group ( ahead of Turkey and Holland) in perspective.
Come on you Bjorks!

The Icelanders are really solid and comfortable in defense and the Portugese don’t really look like they’re going to carve them open easily. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that if the Portugese throw everything at them in the last few minutes they’ll overextend and get hit on the break.

Well deserved point for Iceland.
Tony J
And Pepe remains a complete and utter shitstick.
