I know I’ve said this before, but: Nothing Woodward does has ever contradicted the long-standing argument that he’s been an asset of the ‘alphabet agencies’ since his OSS days.

And it’s been very, very profitable for him — even though not for the good of the country.

I hope to Murphy the Trickster God that the Biden admin’s distrust of mudlarking media members extends to keeping this ancient boneless ghoul well away from their deliberations !

    On the subject of outrage of Milley, hey, isn’t he one of TFG’s generals? Obama didn’t put him in place. Well, OK, he was a general of some sort during the Obama administration, but then again, if he’s served for 40 years then he was commissioned during the Reagan Administration, which makes him the Gipper’s fault.

    @artem1s: Milley’s problems are compounded by his participation, wearing camo uniform, in Trump’s Bible-toting foray last summer. A lot of Democrats wanted his scalp for that one.

    I remember reading what seemed a credible source at the time that said Milley was at a function where the uniform was appropriate, then was summoned by Hair Fuhrer to the Church desecration. Didn’t have time to change uniform, so got played for hyping the MAGA meme of “Danger in the Streets!”

    @artem1s:  If you were career military, and you saw the sort of people Stump usually picked TO DO ANYTHING, if you were reasonably sane, wouldn’t you step into the gap, to keep these other wackaloons from filling it? I would. Not that I would ever be career military, mind you.

    So you’re saying that he was an active member of the OSS from birth to the age of 2, when the OSS was dissolved? That’s quite a recruit. Can’t talk, can’t walk, can’t feed himself… they’ll never suspect a thing! So who exactly has been saying he was part of the OSS?

    Pretty sure once you are the Chair of the Joint Chiefs you are currently topped out. 5-stars are designated by an act of Congress, IIRC. There haven’t been any of those since Doug MacArthur got fired.
