    Whoa, they actually have people in government charged with oversight, who do their jobs? And others take them seriously and have the decency to resign and take responsibility for their own actions? Amazing. Maybe that’s part of the reason why they’re in the green on the Failed States Index, and we’re in the yellow.

    But doesn’t holding officials accountable ultimately reflect poorly on their respective party/ies? This can hurt them in future elections, and when your party is better at handling the war on terror, such accountability helps the terrorists! A shiny medal, on the other hand, lets the people know that, mistakes aside, you’re committed to winning.
